Tours of The National Stud will begin again from Feb. 18 through Discover Newmarket. Visitors will be able to view new stallion Lope Y Fernandez (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}), as well as Time Test (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Aclaim (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}). The 90-minute behind-the-scenes tour will allow visitors to hear about the history of the stud and the work that goes into producing future champions. They will also be able to view mares and foals at close range. The tours run on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holiday Mondays at 10:30 a.m. until the end of October and cost £15 per person or £35 for a family ticket (two adults, two children). Private tours are available at other times for a supplementary £50 fee on top of standard ticket prices, with group tours also available.
The tour can be easily combined with a visit to the National Horse Racing Museum (adults £15, under-16s free) for a rewarding full day's equine experience. The National Stud can also be visited as part of the half-day tour The Newmarket Experience (from £65 per person) and the full-day tour The Ultimate Newmarket Experience (from £95 per person).
