The Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association's open forum on Thursday, June 16, to discuss the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act will be expanded and relocated.
The event is still scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. but will move to Tycoons on the first floor of the clubhouse at Laurel Park to provide additional space and access to video screens for additional presenters and guests who wish to attend virtually.
Alan Foreman, general counsel for the MTHA and Chief Executive Officer of the THA, and Maryland Racing Commission Executive Director Mike Hopkins are confirmed to be on hand in person to discuss HISA and answer questions. In addition, two HISA officials will participate and answer questions via Zoom: CEO Lisa Lazarus and Ann McGovern, a member of the HISA Racetrack Safety Committee.
The meeting will be geared toward trainers and owners but all licensees are welcome.
Access will be provided for those who cannot attend in person. Click here to register for the Zoom portion of the meeting.
No registration is needed for those that wish to attend in person.
The Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority's Racetrack Safety Program begins July 1, while the Anti-Doping and Medication Control Program takes effect Jan. 1, 2023. Registration of covered persons and covered horses is required by July 1, 2022.
