Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout At Gulfstream Park Wednesday

A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 will be held Wednesday at Gulfstream Park on the final day of the fiscal year.

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved Sunday on the first day after Saturday's mandatory payout, leaving a jackpot pool of $26,530.40 heading into Wednesday's special eight-race program.

Live cards for the upcoming racing week will also be conducted on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Summit of Speed program, featuring the $350,000 Grade 2 Princess Rooney Invitational, a Breeders' Cup 'Win and You're In' seven-furlong sprint for fillies and mares, and $200,000 Grade 3 Smile Sprint Invitational, a six-furlong dash for 3-year-olds and up, will headline the Fourth of July Weekend on Saturday.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Wednesday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 3-8, including a 6 ½-furlong optional claiming allowance in Race 6. Terri Pompay-trained Cool Arrow, the 2020 Smile Sprint winner, will face five veteran performers, including ultra-consistent stablemate Squeezadios and Larry Bates-trained With Verve, the 2020 Hutcheson winner.
