Malibu Max, a multiple stakes-placed son of Malibu Moon, has been retired to enter stud at WorkWize Stables in Acme, Alberta.
The 9-year-old finished second in his last race at Fort Erie on Sept. 6 2022, retiring sound.
Malibu Max won 11 of 53 career starts, and was twice third in the Dark Star Stakes at Canterbury Park. A winner of over $440,000 from six furlongs to 1 1/16 miles on dirt, Malibu Max was brought to WorkWize Stables' attention by their trainer/bloodstock agent Cory Rumsey. He arrived at the farm in October
He is out of the graded stakes-placed Pleasantly Perfect mare Mindy Sue.
WorkWize Stables also stands Tour de Force (Tiznow x Dream Supreme), whose first foals arrived in 2022. The farm has also brought in a number of mares, including daughters of American Pharaoh, Kitten's Joy, Graeme Hall, Majesticperfection, and a granddaughter of Into Mischief.
Malibu Max will stand his first season in 2023 for $1,250 Canadian (LFSN).
