Eclipse Award winner Forte will try to cement his status as the Kentucky Derby favorite as he faces eleven rivals in Saturday's $1 million Curlin Florida Derby (G1). FanDuel TV will be live from Gulfstream Park with expanded coverage of the fourteen-race card which highlights a star-studded Saturday that also includes the $1.25 million Arkansas Derby from Oaklawn Park.
FanDuel TV's Britney Eurton, Caton Bredar, Larry Collmus, Andie Biancone and Simon Bray will be live from Gulfstream Park with exclusive interviews, in-depth analysis and expert selections throughout the stakes-laden card. The on-site coverage will also include the utilization of the popular Jockey Cam which allows viewers to watch each race through the eyes of some of the best jockeys in the world along with a drone camera allowing fans to watch the race unfold from a birds' eye perspective.
The Curlin Florida Derby (G1) has drawn a field of twelve Triple Crown hopefuls and there are 100-40-30-20-10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points on the line for the top five finishers. Forte, winner of the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1), has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 4-5 for trainer Todd Pletcher and will be ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr. His rivals include the lightly raced Mage, fourth behind Forte in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) after a winning debut performance in January. Luis Saez will be aboard the son of Good Magic for trainer Gustavo Delgado.
The road to the Kentucky Derby will continue through Arkansas and FanDuel TV will be on-site with Matt Bernier, Scott Hazelton, Mike Joyce, Matt Carothers and Joaquin Jaime providing insights, analysis and interviews throughout the thirteen-race card. The coverage will also give fans a behind-the-scenes perspective through the popular Jockey Cam and drone camera technology.
There will be 100-40-30-20-10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points up for grabs for the top five finishers in the $1.25 million Arkansas Derby and the top tier prep race has attracted a field of eleven sophomores. Trainer Brad Cox will saddle Risen Star (G2) winner Angel of Empire with Florent Geroux set to ride the son of Good Magic. He will square off against the runner-up and third-place finishers from the Rebel Stakes (G2), Red Route One for trainer Steve Asmussen and Reincarnate for Tim Yakteen.
In addition to racing from Gulfstream Park and Oaklawn, FanDuel TV will also be featuring Santa Anita, Aqueduct and more.
