The HISA Board of Directors convened a series of hearings on October 24, 2022 via Zoom to consider the appeals of several individuals seeking appeal of violations cited against them by HISA stewards. The results of those hearings are summarized below.

DECISIONS ON APPEAL
The following decisions were issued following the appeal hearings that took place Oct. 24:

- The appellant appeared for the hearing unrepresented by counsel.
- The HISA Board affirmed the stewards ruling and the attendant sanctions imposed upon the appellant.

- The appellant appeared for the hearing unrepresented by counsel.

- The appellant appeared at the hearing accompanied by Pete Scalcione.
- The HISA Board affirmed the stewards ruling and the attendant sanctions imposed upon the appellant.
- Edgar Perez, Gulfstream Park, Crop Rule Violation, Original Ruling Date Aug. 20
- The HISA Board set aside the stewards ruling pending the stewards' further consideration of this matter on remand.
- Luis Perez, Finger Lakes, Crop Rule Violation, Original Ruling Date July 25
- The appellant appeared at the hearing accompanied by his jockey agent, Dean Frates.
- The HISA Board affirmed the stewards ruling and the attendant sanctions imposed upon the appellant.
- Ademar Santos, Delaware Park, Crop Rule Violation, Original Ruling Date Sept. 3
- The appellant failed to appear for the hearing due to a scheduling miscommunication and has requested to have the hearing reset to enable him to appear.
- The HISA Board reset the hearing for a date to be determined.
