Horseshoe Indianapolis is partnering with the Daily Racing Form (DRF) to show a new enhancement to assist the betting public with updated information prior to each race. The new DRF Formulator Projected Odds will be unveiled today, Thursday, Aug. 10, for the second race beginning at 2:40 p.m. ET.
“We are excited to unveil this cutting-edge technology through our partnership with DRF,” said Eric Halstrom, Vice President and General Manager of Racing. “By offering a look at the projected final odds of each horse, our bettors will have a more accurate gauge for each race. We are always listening to our customers, and that is one thing that was expressed frequently. The odds change often, especially when the horses are entering the starting gate and closing in on post time. This technology provides a quality footprint when analyzing races at Horseshoe Indianapolis.”
Horseshoe Indianapolis is the first track to offer the DRF Formulator Projected Odds. The figures are provided on a slide that will be shown twice during each race, with the exception of the first race daily as “Will Pay” data is utilized to form the projected odds.
“We plan to show the figures just before our handicapping segments while the horses are in the paddock prepping for the race,” added Halstrom. “Then, we will come back with the display just after the post parade, which will be a few minutes before the horses enter the starting gate. This should provide players with detailed information while they are making their final decisions on each race.”
The projected odds and tote odds, or current odds, will be supported by the horse number, jockey, and trainer. The innovative slide will also include a scrolling horizontal bar at the bottom showing all the different wagers available for that particular race.
“DRF Formulator is a powerful handicapping tool,” said Richard Rosa, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Daily Racing Form. “Working with Horseshoe Indianapolis to bring Projected Odds to their customers is a step forward for the racing industry.”
