Officials at Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville, Ind., opted not to run Tuesday's 10-race card due to extreme heat, according to the track's racing analyst Rachel McLaughlin on Twitter.
Local temperatures are around 94 degrees, with nearly 60 percent humidity and a Real Feel of 106 degrees, according to Accuweather.com.
The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for the area from 12:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, July 6, with a nine-race card.
This marks the third cancellation of 2022 at Horseshoe Indianapolis due to heat concerns. Racing was cancelled on June 14 and June 15; the track also moved post times back from 2:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. from June 21 through June 23.
