The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $450,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Par in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
Silks, Gulfstream's simulcast facility, as well as Ten Palms and Flamingo Room will open at 10 a.m. Saturday to accommodate patrons interested in watching and wagering on the full Kentucky Derby Day program at Churchill Downs.
First-race post time for Gulfstream's 12-race program is set for 12:20 p.m.
The Rainbow 6 went unsolved Friday for the seventh day in a row since an April 17 mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $2,208.50 Friday.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, including the $75,000 Big Drama in Race 10 and the $75,000 Honey Ryder in Race 11.
R Mercedes Boy, the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the Big Drama, and his other seven Florida-bred rivals are eligible for a $25,000 win-only bonus in the seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up. The Georgina Baxter-trained R Mercedes Boy is coming off a second-place finish in a sprint stakes for Florida-breds at Tampa Bay Downs that was preceded by back-to-back optional claiming allowance wins at Gulfstream Park.
Todd Pletcher-trained Con Lima has been installed as the 8-5 morning-line favorite for the Honey Ryder, a 1 1/16-mile turf races for 3-year-old fillies on turf. Con Lima was placed first in the Herecomesthebride (G3) on turf before trying dirt during a fourth-placed finish in the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) last time out.
Earlier on the program, seven colts will assemble in Race 2 for the second 2-year-old race of the Spring/Summer Meet. Ralph Nicks-trained Awesome Crusader, a Jacks or Better Farm Inc.; Carlos David-trained Trust Our Journey, a son of American Pharoah; and Michael Yates-trained Cajun Puzzler, a son of Cajun Breeze; are among the most intriguing first-time starters. Jorge Delgado-trained Kitodan, who finished third April 16, is the only colt with race experience in the 4 ½-furlong dash.
