Dr. Burke, a native of Saratoga Springs, brings a wealth of knowledge and a lifelong passion for equine care and horsemanship to his role on the board. A distinguished graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Burke's journey in the world of equine medicine has been deeply influenced by his family's legacy.
His late grandfather, Robert J. “Bobby” Burke (1925-2017), was a renowned figure in the world of horse racing and horsemanship. Bobby Burke's commitment to the well-being of horses left an indelible mark on Dr. Stowe Burke, nurturing his profound love for horses and inspiring him to dedicate his career to their health and welfare.
Dr. Stowe Burke is the proud owner of Burke Equine Therapy, a Saratoga Springs-based practice that specializes in providing advanced veterinary care and therapeutic services to horses. His expertise and dedication to equine well-being have made him a trusted figure within the equine community, both locally and beyond. As a new member of the TRF Board of Directors, Dr. Burke's unique perspective and professional insights will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission.

About TRF: Founded in 1983, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation is a national organization devoted to saving Thoroughbred horses no longer able to compete at the racetrack from possible neglect, abuse, and slaughter.
