The inaugural Dubai Breeze-Up Sale in association with Goffs drew buyers from all over the globe to the winner's enclosure at Meydan, where a son of Dubai World Cup winner Curlin (Lot 45) topped a vibrant first sale.
Offered by Tom Whitehead's Powerstown Stud, the colt out of two-time winner Saucy Dame was purchased by Mohammed Al Subousi for €619,808.
Frankel's half-brother to stakes winners and Group 1-placed Lily's Angel and Zurigha, Lot 30 from Church Farm & Horse Park Stud, was the next highest priced breezer and will head to Japan having been purchased by Hirokazu Okada of Big Red Farm for €520,638.
Among the draft from Aguiar Bloodstock was a son of Kingman out of Raskutani, whose seven winners from seven runners include Group winner and Classic placed Agent Murphy and Global Heat who is multiple Group placed in the UAE. The colt (Lot 40) sold to Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock for €495,846. Another popular member of the sale-topping Powerstown Stud consignment meanwhile was a Mo Town colt (Lot 59) that was knocked down to Prince Fasil Khalid bin Abdulaziz also for €495,846.
The sale opened in style with Lot 1, a Gun Runner colt out of multiple group winning dam Bank Audit, selling for €347,092 to Dr Jim and Fitri Hay who also went to €396,677 late in the evening for a filly by Into Mischief out of G2 winner Ageless (Lot 67). Both lots were offered by Micky Cleere's MC Thoroughbreds.
