Cowtown Cat, a Grade 2 winner and veteran sire, has been sold to stand at Kirton Farms in Turpin, Okla., Bloodhorse reports.
The 19-year-old son of Distorted Humor previously stood at Mapleton Farm in Ohio, where he'd resided since 2015 and became a fixture among the state's top sires.
From 12 crops of racing age, Cowtown Cat has sired 163 winners and amassed combined progeny earnings in excess of $16.5 million. His lone graded stakes winner to date is Calgary Cat, who was named Canada's champion sprinter of 2014.
During his own on-track career, Cowtown Cat won four of 16 starts and earned $562,228. He is best known for his victories in the Grade 2 Illinois Derby and the G3 Gotham Stakes.
Cowtown Cat is out of the winning Storm Cat mare Tom's Cat, who produced two winners from four foals to race. That other winner is European group stakes producer Hopeoverexperience, by Songandaprayer.
