Sic-Bo; Basic Rules

Sic-Bo, is a simple to understand but the bets are difficult to remember. You play Sic-Bo with 3 die which are rolled by the player. The game is very similar to roulette in the manner of betting because you have to make a prediction on the outcome of the dice roll. Before you roll you make a prediction on the outcome of the die. These predictions can be a combination of different numbers on the die or a variety of other outcomes which all offer different levels of difficulty to win.

There are seven different kinds of bets that can be made in Sic-Bo which will be the next topic of the guide.

Bets:

1. Single bet – (located on the bottom left of the board) – Predict that any of the die will land on any number from 1 to 6. if one dice does land on the number you predicted you win 1:1. if 2 die land on the number you predicted you win 2:1. Finally if all 3 die land on that 1 number you win 3:1.House advantage on this bet is close to 8%.

2. Two Die Bet- (located in the center on the bottom of the board.) – Predict that any 2 of the die will land on a 2 number combination that you must choose. The third dice has no effect on the game of the other 2 land on the number you choose. You win a payoff of 6:1. House advantage on this bet is close to 17%.

3. Three of A Kind – (located on the top in the center of the board) – Predict that all 3 die will land on the same number; any number of your choice. You win a payoff of 24:1. The House advantage on this bet is close to 30%.

4. Total of Three Die Bet- (located in the center of the board going vertically as a row of number from 4-17) – Predict that the total of the three die sum up to a number from 4-17(,3,and 18 is not included because they odds win a different bet with a much higher payout). You win a payoff which varies from 6:1 all the way to 60:1. If you choose a total of 10 or 11 you have the lowest payout of
6:1 with a house edge of only 12.5%. If you choose a total of 9 or 12 the payout is 6:1 with a house edge of 18%. If you choose a total of 8 or 13 the payout is 8:1 with a house edge of 12.5%. If you choose a total of 7 or 14 the payout is 12:1 with a house edge of 9.7%. If you choose a total of 6 or 15 the payout is 17:1 with a house edge of 16.5%. If you choose a total of 5 or 16 the payout is 30:1 with a house edge of 13.2%. If you choose a total of 4 or 17 the payout is 60:1 and the house edge is 15%.

5. Small or big Bet – (located on the top on each the left and right side || 2 different bets) Predict that the total of the 3 die will total a variety of numbers. This bet has a very high chance of winning because you have about a 50/50 chance of getting the die to total the amounts that you choose. The “small” bet is when you predict that the die will total any number from 4-10. the “big” bet is when you predict that the die will total 11-17. You win a payoff of 1:1. House advantage on this bet is close to 2.7%.

6. Triple – (located on the top in the center of the board ) – Predict that all 3 die will land on a single number. The chances against you getting all 3 die to land on the number you choose is 215:1. You win a payoff of 180:1. House advantage on this bet is close to 30%.

7. pair – (located on the top of the board on split in the middle by the triple bets) Predict that 2 of the die will land on a single number that you choose. You win a payoff of 8:1. House advantage on this bet is close to 33%.

There is a little cheat so you don’t have to memorize all of these. That secret is the board. I know that’s not really a secret but it is true that the board has all the information that you need to choose your bets. Despite that, you still need to know the risks involved in each bet. Sic-Bo is a very fun game with a lot of excitement and a high risk of winning.

Should You Play Slots Online Or At Land Based Casinos?

There’s been a great deal of discussion about online gambling recently with legislators, operators and the global community of gamblers trying to fathom complex matters such as Internet “locality”. In the midst of these deliberations, many players have been wanting to assess the relative merits of gambling online or at land-based casinos.

Through all of this there has been a lack of focus on the experience of the person who actually plays money at a casino. How about the gamblers who are central to any issues concerning casinos? We pose the sensible opening question – which are better, online or land-based slot machines?

Land-based slots are the world’s most popular casino game. They pay more winnings to gamblers than all of the other casino games together. But how well does this cherished form of land-based gambling adapt to online play? The vast majority of slots enthusiasts believe it has made the transition splendidly. The online versions of slots have become the most-played form of online casino games, owing in part to the ease of finding slots on the Internet (they’re also easy enough to find and play at land-based casinos) and in part to the fact that the game play is so simple.

Slot machines at land-based casinos have been controlled by computers for many years, so it’s relatively easy to adapt the game to play online. Some players are puzzled when you tell them a land-based slot machine is no more than a computer in a fancy case, but this is exactly what it is. These slots are driven by a microprocessor with a built-in random number generator. They work just like the online versions because the operating software is hard-coded in the microprocessor.

This means there is not much of a difference between the way the game works and how the odds compute for online or land-based slot machines. But there are some differences.

The most obvious difference, the one that will forever separate the two forms, is that you can’t physically put your hands on an online slot. Similarly, land-based machines have much bigger and more spectacular light and sound displays, although the graphics on the virtual slots are sophisticated enough these days to emulate reality pretty well.

There are numerous less evident advantages of playing online slots. For a start, you choose the time, place and the most comfortable seat in the house. You can play with your own refrigerator, DVD music system and other personal comforts close to hand. This is one of the great appeals of online casinos – you can visit them and experience all of their excitement without stepping outside your own home! And you can interrupt play whenever you like without worrying that some other gambler is going to annex your place at the machine.

Possibly the most telling difference between playing slots at an online compared with a land-based casino is the nature of the comps you receive. At a land-based establishment, the keen slots player may receive a coupon or some similar small comp as a reward for slaving away at a machine for several hours. It’s quite different online because the competition among casinos is so intense.

With the Internet it doesn’t matter where in the world you live, every online casino would love to lure your custom. As a result you can get a comp simply for deciding to play at a given casino regardless of how much you’ve gambled there. The sign-up bonus is a common online attraction. It gives you a substantial value in real credits at the casino and you can exploit this bonus to swell your bankroll, spend more time playing the slots and experience more opportunities to be a winner.

Many slots players find it genuinely gratifying to receive a comp in advance rather than after having to earn it by achieving a certain level of play. If you add the comps to the other advantages of online slots, it should be easy to see which version best meets the needs of the players.

Shifts In Casino Gambling Trends

The internet’s ability to blur boundaries and society’s acceptance of casino gambling and sports betting ultimately shed light on the inconsistencies and loopholes of American gambling laws. From the makeshift sportsbook stalls in Nevada, most sports betting activities shifted operations and exploited the possibilities of cyberspace in the mid-1990s. At present, there are numerous online gaming sites catering to sports betting and casino gambling based in countries like Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Ireland.

Despite overseas-based operations, the lion’s share of the revenues and clients of these sites come from American states. In fact, recent studies show that these online casino gambling and sports betting sites earn more than legal casinos operating in Nevada. The profits of online gambling and betting sites are estimated at $70 billion for 2005 alone. This is a staggering amount compared to the reported $2 billion from Nevada casinos. This is enough to overthrow the three-decade reign of Nevada casinos from the 60’s to the early 90’s. Considering that online sportsbook and casino sites have been operating for less than two decades, they are clearly a threat to the thriving Nevada gambling scene.

For decades, Las Vegas is the only place legal for gambling operations. Atlantic City followed suit and made casino gambling legal; the following decades saw the proliferation of state lotteries, card clubs, gaming ships, Indian casinos, and off-track betting salons across the nation. But still, these developments are not enough to compete with online gambling. The industry of online gambling is not even swayed by staunch opposition from legal US casinos. The gambling laws of the United States of America do not help, too. They vary widely from the different states. Most states ban all forms of gambling while some make exceptions. Inconsistencies like these make it easy for online operators to find and use loopholes in the law. The American Gaming Association maintains a defensive stand regarding online gambling. The association pushes for federal laws on the regulation of online gambling. According to them, the unregulated nature of the online gambling industry is its advantage over traditional casinos; regulating it puts both camps on even footing.

But despite this stand, some Nevada casinos are following the old stand-by: if you cannot beat them, join them. November 1998 saw the start of a new trend; traditional casinos started acquiring off-shore online casino gambling companies to improve their profits. An affiliate of the Hilton Hotels absorbed the Australian online sportsbook http://Centrebet.com. Other Nevada casinos followed and this cycle again spawned a new barrage of debates.

Contrary to their earlier dislike of the online gambling industry, the traditional casinos set their sights higher. They are now pressuring the Congress to pass a law that legalizes online gambling. This is done in an effort to lower production costs; legalization means that they could now shift their operations in the US. Harrah’s and MGM Mirage, the two leading casinos in Nevada and undoubtedly owning their own online gambling sites, lead the casinos in requesting for the regulation of online gaming. Clearly, this move requesting for regulation does not intend to put traditional casinos at par with online sites anymore. The competition shifted between independent online sites and Nevada casino-owned sites. A move to regulate translates to double profits for the Nevada casinos.

Whatever comes out of this new development in casino gambling, gamers are still assured of their gambling fix. Possibly, if the proposed regulation is approved, there would be more security in betting online since it is now under US laws. Like before, casino gambling proves itself to be a dynamic and ever-changing industry.
