The catalog for the 2023 Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Fall Mixed Sale is now online, featuring 50 horses on offer, prior to the horses of racing age supplement to be announced at a later time.
The auction will take place Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the winner's circle of Mahoning Valley Race Course in Youngstown, Ohio, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. Horses will be available for preview in the Mahoning Valley receiving barn on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 17, and on sale day beginning at 9 a.m.
This year's catalog features 22 yearlings, 12 broodmares, 11 weanlings, and four juveniles. All of the young horses on offer are Ohio-breds.
Ohio stallions with young horses in the catalog include Callide Valley, Corfu, Da Big Hoss, Drill, Dynamic Racer, Flagship, Itsmyluckyday, Kennedy, Medal Count, One Sided, Sky Kingdom, Tidal Volume, and William's Kitten.
Stallions whose first crops of yearlings are represented in the catalog include Complexity and Volatile.
The OTBO will be taking nominations for the horses of racing age segment through Oct. 10. Those horses will be offered immediately following the main catalog.
