2026 Beverly D. Stakes at a Glance

Memories of Arlington International Racecourse will be revived on Saturday when the famed racetrack’s premier turf stakes will be contested at Colonial Downs. For fillies and mares, there’s the Beverly D. Stakes, which is named for longtime Arlington owner Richard Duchossois’s wife, Beverly. As usual some of the year’s top turf females will be on hand for another competitive renewal of the 1 3/16-mile stakes.

Taylor Kingsley was in the midst of a smoky drive home from Delaware Park, where the races had been canceled due to poor air quality caused by Canadian wildfires, when her phone rang. “What are you up to on Monday?” her former boss, Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, asked. “Not much,” Kingsley replied. “Probably just breezing some horses at Fair Hill [Training Center in Maryland].”
