Kentucky Oaks Winner Secret Oath Withdrawn From Fasig-Tipton November Sale

Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Oath was withdrawn from the Fasig-Tipton November Sale this morning, as owners Robert and Stacy Mitchell of Brilland Farm have opted to campaign her again in 2023.

She was cataloged as Hip 231 with Bluewater Sales, agent.

“We watched her run in the Breeders' Cup, and following the race, we decided that we would like to see her back in the winner's circle again before she enters the sales ring,” Stacy Mitchell said.

Secret Oath, a 3-year-old daughter of Arrogate, finished fifth on Saturday in the Breeders' Cup Distaff at Keeneland.

Trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Secret Oath has won five of 13 starts for earnings of $1,768,417. She started the year with victories in the listed Martha Washington Stakes and Grade 3 Honeybee Stakes at Oaklawn Park before finishing third agains colts in the G1 Arkansas Derby.

Secret Oath took over in the stretch of the Kentucky Oaks to win by two lengths over division rival Nest. She then tested the boys once again in the Preakness Stakes, finishing fourth behind Early Voting. Her summer campaign saw her post in-the-money efforts in the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks, Alabama Stakes, and Cotillion Stakes prior to her Breeders' Cup start at Keeneland.
