Santa Anita Reverts To Traditional Pick 6 For Autumn Meet Beginning Sept. 29

Santa Anita Park has announced that beginning with the opening of its 18-day Autumn Meet on Friday, Sept. 29, the track will offer a traditional $1 Pick Six. Track officials have responded to the wishes of a vast number of players seeking a return to a more traditional Pick Six format with 70 percent of the net pool paid to tickets which correctly select all six winners and 30 percent paid in a consolation payoff to those players who select five of six winners.

As is the case with the traditional Pick Six format, in the event there are no tickets with all six winners, 70 percent of the net pool is carried over to the next card and 30 percent is paid out to winning consolation tickets.

The Pick Six will again be comprised of the final six races on each day's program with a mandatory payout in place on closing day, Sunday, Nov. 5.

Santa Anita's Autumn Meet will be highlighted by the 40th Breeders' Cup World Championships, which will be hosted by Santa Anita for a record 11th time on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.

Live racing will be offered on a Friday through Sunday basis for the entire meet, with the exception of special holiday racing on Monday, Oct. 9, which is Indigenous People's Day, and on Thursday, Nov. 2, the day before the Breeders' Cup World Championships. (Santa Anita will be open for simulcast wagering only on Friday, Oct. 13).
