The road to the Kentucky Derby runs through Louisiana on Saturday and FanDuel TV will be live on-site at Fair Grounds with excusive coverage of the $400,000 Risen Star Stakes (G2) as the undefeated Victory Formation takes on a field of thirteen rivals.
FanDuel TV's Scott Hazelton, Gabby Gaudet, Dave Weaver, Todd Schrupp and Matt Bernier will be reporting live with exclusive interviews, expert analysis and behind-the-scenes coverage of the thirteen-race card which includes five stakes races. There are 50-20-15-10-5 Kentucky Derby qualifying points on the line for the top five finishers.
Victory Formation is undefeated from three starts and one of three horses in the race for trainer Brad Cox. A $350,000 purchase as a juvenile, he earned his first black-type victory last time out at Oaklawn Park in the Smarty Jones Stakes and will have Flavien Prat in the irons for his graded stakes debut. His rivals include graded stakes winner Two Phil's, last seen finishing second in the Lecomte Stakes (G3) for trainer Larry Rivelli and jockey Jareth Loveberry.
In addition to a key prep race for the Kentucky Derby, there is also a Kentucky Oaks prep race on Saturday – the $300,000 Rachel Alexandra Stakes (G2). The race will feature the much-anticipated three-year-old debut of graded stakes winner Hoosier Philly. A daughter of Into Mischief trained by Tom Amoss, she won the first three starts of her juvenile campaign and will have regular rider Edgar Morales aboard.
In addition to racing from Fair Grounds, FanDuel TV will also be featuring Santa Anita, Gulfstream Park and more.
