With heavy rain in the forecast, Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., has announced there will be no live racing on Monday, Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Santa Anita will instead run Friday, Jan. 20, which was originally scheduled to be an off-day.
Although there is no racing this Saturday and Monday, Santa Anita will be open as planned for live racing on Sunday, with first post time for an eight-race card, consisting of all main track races, at 12:30 p.m. PT.
The Grade 3, $200,000 La Canada Stakes, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now be run this Sunday, Jan. 15. The La Canada, for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles, has been carded as Sunday's seventh race, with assigned post time at 3:29 p.m. PT.
With sunny skies forecast next week, Santa Anita will run next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with first post time each day at 12:30 p.m. PT.
