‘Both Entertaining And Informative’: Equibase Introduces Free AI Statlines

Through a partnership with Pramana Labs, a natural language AI technology company, Equibase Company today announced the introduction of Statlines available within the entries section of equibase.com. Statlines are free to use and provide unique insights about horses, jockeys, and trainers entered to run for every track and race across the country.

Users can access the free Statlines within the entries section of equibase.com. The available Statlines can be filtered by tags such as jockey, trainer, jockey/trainer combination, horses to watch, exotic wagers, and track alerts.

“Our partnership with Pramana is helping Equibase deliver the type of data in a similar manner as we see with other major sports,” said Equibase Vice President of Data Operations and Digital Services Chris Dawahare. “The Statlines being generated by Pramana Labs are creating content for literally every race at every Thoroughbred track every single day, and the data is both entertaining and informative for wagering.”

The Statlines link is located to the right of each race entry, next to two other free tools: Entries Plus, which provides basic racing performance information in an interactive, easy-to-digest format, and Smart Pick, which creates suggested wagering tickets based on a set of user preferences.

In partnership with Equibase, Pramana Labs has also developed an API (application programming interface) offering these advanced data-querying capabilities so that industry stakeholders such as media partners, racetracks, and online wagering companies can provide this same content to their respective bettors and audiences.

“The AI technology that Pramana provides coupled with Equibase's vast database has been the perfect partnership,” said Corey Patton, Pramana Labs CEO. “Our system's direct, natural language querying of massive amounts of horse racing data far surpasses previous technologies, allowing fans to tap into a rich dataset in ways that until now weren't available.”

Equibase Company is a partnership between subsidiaries of The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America and serves as the Thoroughbred industry's official database. Through its website and mobile applications, Equibase offers a comprehensive array of free statistical information as well as premium handicapping products and reports in support of the North American Thoroughbred racing industry.

About Pramana

Pramana Labs, Inc., creates AI products that leverage the power of natural language processing and natural language generation, allowing users from all industries to ask questions of their data with simplicity and consume new insights naturally. Old Friends: Travers Winner V. E. Day Retired From Stud Duty, Arrives At Retirement Farm

Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Farm in Georgetown, Ky., is pleased to announce the arrival of 2014 Travers Stakes (G1) winner V. E. Day to the farm.

A chestnut son of English Channel–California Sunset, by Deputy Minister, V. E. Day came to Old Friends following the death of his owner-breeder Magalen O. Bryant in 2021. Bryant's representative, Johnathan Miller, and her daughter, K. C. Graham, visited Old Friends earlier this year when it was decided the stallion would retire from stud duty.

“V. E. Day was a courageous Travers winner and we inquired about his post-breeding career last year,” said Michael Blowen, president and founder of Old Friends. “We're very excited that his owner trusts us with her magnificent chestnut.”

Foaled in Kentucky on April 21, 2011, V. E. Day was trained by James Jerkens for Bryant his entire American racing career.

As a 3-year old in 2014, V. E. Day got his first career win his third time out in a maiden special weight race at Belmont Park on May 10, which turned out to be the start of a four-race win streak. In his next race, he won an allowance race at Belmont Park on July 2, followed by a win in the Curlin Stakes (Black Type) at Saratoga on July 25 for his first stakes win.

Then, next time out, he scored the signature victory of his career when he won the 145th running of the Travers Stakes (G1) at Saratoga on Aug. 23. In the race, he defeated Wicked Strong by nose for his first Grade 1 win.

Later that year, he finished 11th in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Nov. 1.

He returned in 2015 as a 5-year old, but had no wins. However, he did have two second-place finishes, both at Belmont, which came in the Brooklyn Invitational Stakes (G2) on June 6, and in the Temperence Hill Invitational Stakes (Black Type) on Sept 12.

He was then sent to France in 2016 as a 6-year old and had three third-place finishes in four starts. The first two came at Clairefontaine-deauville on July 7 and Aug. 12, and the last came at Le Croise-laroche on Nov. 19,

Following that race V. E. Day, who had won on both turf and dirt in his career, was retired with four wins, three seconds, three thirds, and $1,044,061 in earnings in 17 career starts.

During his stud career, he stood at Waldorf Farm in New York, Lovacres Ranch near Warner Springs, Calif., and Buck Pond Farm in Versailles, before being pensioned and sent to Old Friends for his retirement.
