SILVER CRACK (FR) (Cracksman {GB}) is one of two TDN Rising Stars along with Feed The Flame (GB) (Kingman {GB}) to line up in this Prix de Ferrieres which could serve as a G1 Prix du Jockey Club pointer. Claudio Marzocco, Edoardo Marzocco & Free Man Racing's Silver Crack hails from the family of Ticker Tape (GB) (Royal Applause {GB}), Brando (GB) (Pivotal {GB}) and Reckless Abandon (GB) (Exchange Rate) and was a seven-length debut winner at Saint-Cloud for the Jean-Claude Rouget stable, while Ecurie Jean-Louis Bouchard's Feed The Flame, a half-brother to the classy Chad Brown stalwart Sacred Life (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), was as impressive on his racecourse bow here earlier this month for the Pascal Bary stable.

“We Have To Give Her A Chance” – Bin Suroor Bullish On Mawj For Guineas

Group 2 winner Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) is in good order ahead of an intended start in the May 7 G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas, according to Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

A winner of the G2 Duchess Of Cambridge S. and third in the G1 Cheveley Park S. at two, the bay won both the Jumeirah Fillies Classic and Jumeirah Fillies Guineas conditions races at Meydan over the winter.

Bin Suroor said, “She is good, has been working well and in good form. She will run in the Guineas. She is a nice filly and a proven filly. She has shown plenty of speed, but she stayed a mile well in Dubai and now we will give her a chance in the Guineas.

“It is a very tough race, but we have to give her a chance and see how she goes, as she has earned that chance. She has grown a little, but not much. That is why we gave her a break between races. Two-year-olds, when you give them a break, they generally grow and strengthen.”

Old Friends To Dedicate Three Street Signs To Long-Time Supporters On May 7

Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Farm in Georgetown, Ky., will dedicate three new street signs on the farm during its 18th Annual Homecoming event, Sunday, May 7, 2023, noon to 4 p.m.

The new signs will honor three of horse racing's long-time luminaries and supporters of Old Friends:

* Dave Litfin, “Litfin Lane,” author of numerous horse racing handicapping books and a writer for the Daily Racing Form;

* Bob Neumeier, “Neumeier Street,” who is best known as an NBC broadcaster for some of horse racing's biggest races including the Triple Crown races and Breeders' Cup; and

* Jay Privman, “Privman Pass,” recently retired as Daily Racing Form's national correspondent and 2023 Special Eclipse Award honoree.

Litfin and Neumeier passed away in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

“This trio of remarkable chroniclers of Thoroughbred racing will have paths named after them at Old Friends to remind all of our visitors of the importance of their stories,” said Michael Blowen, President and founder of Old Friends. “We owe them a huge debt of gratitude.”

The three new street signs will join the two existing ones on the farm, “Byars Way” and “Mooney's Place,” which honor Dr. Doug Byars, Old Friends original equine veterinarian, and Bill Mooney, an Eclipse Award winning writer.

Old Friends, a non-profit organization, is home to such retired stars of the turf as 1997 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007, Silver Charm; a multiple graded-stakes winner who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015, Lava Man; Belmont Stakes winners Touch Gold, Sarava, Ruler On Ice, and Birdstone; three-time Santa Anita Handicap star, Game On Dude; 2005 Wood Memorial winner, Bellamy Road; 2012 Breeders' Cup Turf and Arlington Million winner, Little Mike; one-eyed, fan-favorite and third-place finisher in the 2017 Belmont Stakes, Patch; and two-time Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner, Stormy Liberal.

NBC Sports, Kentucky Derby Hit The Road With Interactive Fan Experience

NBC Sports and the Kentucky Derby have launched an interactive tour highlighting the activities and pageantry associated with the Kentucky Derby to inspire fans to host their own Kentucky Derby parties ahead of the 149th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

In partnership with Woodford Reserve, vineyard vines and TwinSpires.com, fans will be able to experience the special drinks, traditional fashion, and wagering that are synonymous with the Kentucky Derby, including:
