Flatter’s Stonewall Star Wires The Key Cents S.

A 4 1/2-length winner against state-bred fillies at second asking Sept. 22, Stonewall Star returned to take on the boys last time out, coming in a game third beaten only a length behind Acoustic Ave (Maclean's Music) and GSP Andiamo a Firenze (Speightstown) in the New York Breeders' Futurity at the Finger Lakes Oct. 17. Back against her own gender Saturday as the heavy 2-5 choice, Stonewall Star wasted no time getting to the front, establishing the early lead from the first strides.  With over a length in hand through the opening half in :47.59, she turned for home a path off the rail and drew off under a drive to keep Weekend Rags behind her, cruising home much the best to win by open daylight.

“She moved forward off that race at Finger Lakes,” said winning trainer Horacio De Paz. “I wanted her to get involved in the race, but she broke sharp today. I don't know if that was by mistake; maybe getting settled in the gate a little bit, but she got great position early on.”

The second stakes winner and last reported foal produced out of a half-sister to GISP Pinch Pie (Victory Gallop), Stonewall Star hails back to GI Breeders' Cup Classic winner Volponi. (Cryptoclearance). Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by TVG.

‘Cookin’ With Cat’: Trainer, Chef Catalano Shares Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

Trainer Wayne Catalano has gained many fans on his Twitter page (@CATracingstable) by sharing his daily cooking adventures. He offered his favorite Thanksgiving Day recipe: oyster stuffing.

“Thanksgiving is always a special time when you get to spend it with family,” Catalano said. “I think I'm going to go back home for a few days to Chicago. I haven't been home in a long time, and it will be good to go see my wife, Renee, and the rest of my family. We always have the usual stuff, but the key dishes are the oyster stuffing, baked mac and cheese, and sweet potato casserole.”

Catalano's oyster stuffing starts with mixing carrots, celery, and onions along with seasoned ground chuck.

“You start with the usual 'trinity' as they call it and combine it all together to cook down,” Catalano said. “I usually get some regular ground chuck and cook that and combine it with all of the carrots, onions, and celery. You don't need sirloin or anything special, just some good chuck.

“Then, of the key things I like to do is take stale bread and soak it in the oyster juices. Next, you mix in the oysters with the ground chuck, carrots, celery, and onions. Finally, add the bread and mix it all together before baking in the oven.”

Catalano shared one final thought on cooking for the holiday seasons, “You always know going into the holidays cooking is going to be a lot of work, but it's all worth it in the end when you're sitting around the table with your family.”

Leonard-Trained California Angel Among 11 Fillies Entered For Mrs. Revere

Chris Walsh's classy 3-year-old filly California Angel tops a field of 11 entered in Friday's 31st running of the $300,000 Mrs. Revere (G2) at Churchill Downs.

The 1 1/16-mile Mrs. Revere for 3-year-old fillies will go as Race 9 of 12 with a post time of 4:57 p.m. (ET). The turf event is scheduled to be contested in Lane 3, 24 feet from the inside rail. First post is 1 p.m. and the stellar “Black Friday” program also features the 148th running of the $750,000 Clark (G1) in Race 11.

Trained by George Leonard III, California Angel gained many fans before she contested last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).

The daughter California Chrome finished 11th, beaten four lengths in the Juvenile Fillies Turf. Following her runner-up effort in the Allen 'Black Cat' LaCombe Memorial March 12 at Fair Grounds, Leonard gave the filly time on the sidelines until September when she finished a determined third in the Dueling Ground Oaks at Kentucky Downs. California Angel went on to finish fourth in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) and second in the Valley View (G3), both at Keeneland, the latter in which she started on just 12 days rest.

Churchill Downs leading rider Tyler Gaffalione will be aboard in the Mrs. Revere, who won last year's Jessamine (G2) at Keeneland prior to the Breeders' Cup, and the duo will break from post No. 6 as she tries to add a second stakes victory to her record.

Trainer Kenny McPeek entered a trio of fillies in the Mrs. Revere: Lugamo Racing Stable's stakes-placed Lady Puchi, Gentry Farms' recent allowance winner Lovely Princess, and Dell Ridge Farm's maiden special weight winner Sweet Lady Ivanka.

Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. rode all three fillies in their most recent starts and will be aboard Lovely Princess for the Mrs. Revere.

In her last start, Lovely Princess rallied from seven lengths off the early pace in a first-level allowance event at Keeneland for a one-length victory. The daughter of Twirling Candy earned an 85 Brisnet Speed Rating for her win. She'll break from post 7 in the Mrs. Revere.

Jockey Julien Leparoux will have the call on Lady Puchi from post 3 while Corey Lanerie will pick up on the mount on Sweet lady Ivanka out of post 5.

Another filly with a graded stakes victory on her résumé is Shortleaf Stable's Matron (G3) winner Bubble Rock.

Trained by Brad Cox, Bubble Rock scored a half-length win as a 2-year-old at Belmont Park in the Matron prior to her 12th-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. As a 3-year-old, Bubble Rock sports a 2 ½-length score in the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes, run over the Tapeta surface at Turfway Park.

Bubble Rock will be ridden by Joel Rosario from post 4.

The full field for the Mrs. Revere from the rail out (with jockey, trainer): Take a Stand (Declan Cannon, Vicki Oliver); She's Gone (Rafael Bejarano, Vicki Oliver); Lady Puchi (Leparoux, McPeek); Bubble Rock (Rosario, Cox); Sweet Lady Ivanka (Lanerie, McPeek); California Angel (Gaffalione, Leonard); Lovely Princess (Hernandez, McPeek); Fancy Martini (Luis Saez, Joe Sharp); Have A Good Day (Florent Geroux, Gustavo Delgado); Quality Star (Joe Talamo, Paulo Lobo); and Joyful Applause (Edgar Morales, Helen Pitts).

The Many Faces Of Online Gambling

Gambling has changed. With the increased popularity and accessibility of the internet, more and more people are gambling various forms. From sports betting to underground poker rooms, the general public is playing and it can be attributed largely to the internet.

Today’s gambler is always looking for a way to gamble more easily and to do so within the legal bounds of his country. The internet provides him or her with just that. The gambling is accessible just by logging on, and since many online gambling sites are set up outside the US territory, they are actually quite legal.

The internet makes it easy to gamble in all ways. Offshore sports betting centers will allow you to see lines and odds almost as soon as they are posted at the actual sports book. In addition, a bet can be placed in any number of books while you simply sit in your chair looking at your computer screen.

The same goes for poker and other games. Casino games are available in video form online any time of day. The sites are, by and large, legal. This makes gambling in general more accessible for everyone. Long gone are the days where you met at a speakeasy to play poker and roulette.

Today, the craze is going beyond simply gambling on the internet. Now, most software is downloable to your phone so that you can see them, but also you can play the games on your phone. You can win and lose money right there on your cell phone without even leaving your car during rush hour.

Gambling is officially a mainstream sport or activity. People play at their homes, in school, at the Catholic Church, and even on cell phones. This type of exposure has made it so that gambling is the next great social activity out there.
