#1 – Taiba
Catches easy pace
Weakened in white-hot Derby
He'll see the latter

#2 – Life Is Good
The race swings on him
Will he stand up to Flightline
Or race for second?

#3 – Happy Saver
Loves running second
Quarter crack's a huge red flag
Not gonna touch him

#4 – Flightline
The card's headline act
No one's put a dent in him
And they might never

#5 – Hot Rod Charlie
Can't deny his heart
Good chance he'll be in the mix
Can't pick him to win

#6 – Epicenter
His ship's been righted
After classic near-misses
He'll take home a piece

#7 – Olympiad
In his big class test
He was fourth in the Whitney
Step behind the best

#8 – Rich Strike
He'll get a hot pace
The trick will be catching it
Play low on supers

Prediction
Flightline's winning it
This line is irrelevant
Six, five, eight follow

Daughter of Arrogate Fires Big at Aqueduct

1st-Aqueduct, $85,000, Msw, 11-4, 2yo, f, 1m, 1:39.63, ft,13 1/2 lengths.
FIRELINE (f, 2, Arrogate–High Ridge Road {GSW, $442,157}, by Quality Road) proved that her career debut fifth sprinting 6 1/2 panels in the slop Oct. 2 was a toss following an eye-catching 13 1/2-length score at Aqueduct Friday. Away from her outside draw to press the issue with favored Avant (Uncle Mo), who threw up an opening quarter in :24.02, the 9-5 second choice continued to shadow the frontrunner through a :47.75 half. Drawing on even terms with Avant entering the final turn, the grey was clear straightening for home, extended her advantage through the lane and was well clear of the closing Guns n' Graces (Gun Runner) at the wire. Serena's Court (Union Rags) grabbed third from Avant. The winner's dam posted her most significant career victory in the seven-furlong GII Barbara Fritchie S. in 2017 for owner Martin Schwartz and was subsequently sold to this operation to be among the first book of mares bred to Arrogate. Also part of that group was Paulassilverlining (Ghostzapper), winner of the GI Madison S. and GI Humana Distaff S. over seven furlongs, whose first foal is Juddmonte's 'TDN Rising Star' Artorius. Also the dam of the Fireline's year-older brother and two-time winner Thistle, High Ridge Road foaled a Not This Time filly this year and was bred back to that in-form stallion. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $50,550. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by TVG.

2022 German Oaks Winner Sold To Shadai, Will Race On In The UK

Classic heroine Toskana Belle (Fr) (Shamalgan {Fr}), who raced most recently for Andreas Wohler and Australian Bloodstock, has been sold to Shadai Farm and will be trained by Roger Varian going forward, Wohler announced on his website.

Bred by Ecurie Normandie Pur Sang, the chestnut was an €40,000 RNA at the Arqana October Yearling Sale. Raced initially by trainer Marian Falk Weissmeier and Stall Piccadilly, the filly won at second asking at Evreux in May before adding the Listed Henkel-Stutenpreis on May 14. Purchased by Australian Bloodstock, she was third in the G3 Diana Trial at Hoppegarten still with Weissmeier. Switched to Wohler, Toskana Belle won the Oaks by a head on Aug. 7. Her latest effort was a second in the GIII Jockey Club Oaks Invitational S. under Frankie Dettori during the Belmont at Aqueduct meet on Sept. 17. From just six starts, the half-sister to the stakes-placed Frohsim (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) has netted $464,764.

“The impressive Diana winner has been sold to Shadai Farm and is now on her way to England, where she will be prepared by Roger Varian,” said Wohler. “There are so many different characters in the horses, and some make it easier, others harder. Toskana Belle has always made it very easy for everyone with her always so friendly and uncomplicated nature and the time with her on Ravensberg will remain in our memories.”

Her extended family contains the group winners Varevees (GB) (Kahyasi {Ire}) and the dual Group 1-placed Kaldounevees (Fr) Kaldoun {Fr}), while 'TDN Rising Star' and subsequent stakes winner Breizh Sky (Fr) (Pedro The Great) was third in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.
