America’s Day At The Races To Present Live Coverage From Far Hills Steeplechase On Saturday

America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national television show produced by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) in partnership with FOX Sports, will once again present live coverage and on-site analysis of the Far Hills Race Meeting, the storied one-day steeplechase event that highlights the steeplechase calendar.

The 101st Far Hills Steeplechase Race Meeting will offer $575,000 in purses and include five graded stakes among six races to be run at Moorland Farm in Far Hills, N.J. Highlighted by the Grade 1 $250,000 Grand National, the richest and most prestigious race on the National Steeplechase Association schedule. The one-day meet at Far Hills is the marquis event in American steeplechase racing.

This year's Far Hills meet will honor the late John Forbes, a longtime trainer based at Monmouth Park and a past president of the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association. The day's only flat race will be the inaugural $100,000 John Forbes Memorial at 2 miles on the turf. Forbes passed away at the age of 73 on January 31, 2021.

NYRA host Acacia Clement will anchor the coverage from Far Hills joined by journalist Joe Clancy with Richard Migliore reporting throughout the afternoon. America's Day at the Races, which will include all the Saturday action from Belmont at the Big A, will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Should the National League Division Series [NLDS] require a Game 4 then America's Day at the Races will air on FS2 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. If game 4 of the NLDS is not necessary, then America's Day at the Races will air on FS1 from 12:30-5:30 p.m.

In addition to stateside coverage on Saturday afternoon, FOX Sports will present live coverage of British Champions Day from Ascot on FS1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern. Now in its eighth year, QIPCO British Champions Day, is the richest day on the British racing calendar.

The lucrative card is highlighted by two Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” Challenge Series events with the winners earning automatic and free entry to the Breeders' Cup World Championships on November 4 and 5 at Keeneland Race Course. The winner of the Group 1, £1.1 million [$1.23 million] Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at 1 mile, scheduled for 10:10 a.m., heads to the Grade 1, $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile; with the winner of the 10-furlong Group 1, £1.3 million [$1.45 million] QIPCO Champion Stakes, set for 10:50 a.m., qualifying for the Grade 1, $4 million Breeders' Cup Turf.

Dave Brower To Be Remembered At The Meadowlands On Nov. 12

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony for Dave Brower at The Meadowlands on Saturday, Nov. 12, and anyone who appreciated his dedication to the sport of harness racing is welcome to be there.

Brower, who passed away at age 53 of natural causes while on assignment in Lexington (KY) on Oct. 7, was the longtime lead TV personality, oddsmaker and program analyst at The Big M. His long resume includes many national TV gigs, the most recent being this year's Hambletonian, which was broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

“We were pleased the Brower family wanted to have Dave's memorial at the track where he was such a popular figure,” said track Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “This will give all of Dave's family and friends a chance to exchange stories in the place where he was such an impactful personality.”

“We think The Meadowlands is the perfect place to have Dave's celebration of life,” said Brower's sister, Laura. “He loved his job, but even more than that, he loved all of the people at the track, those who worked there, as well as the fans.”

“Dave loved it when there were big races on a card,” said Dave Little, Brower's broadcast partner for the last five years. “So having this night for him when the Kindergarten finals are taking place is appropriate. It'll be great to have his family, the horsemen and all the fans there to pay tribute to my great friend, but when it's time to go on-camera, I will be missing him terribly.”

Brower will be honored before the race card, beginning at approximately 5:45 p.m.
