Thanks to increased support from leading Irish breeders we have grown the catalogue whilst maintaining the quality across both days and I extend our thanks to every vendor as we are nothing without their beautiful yearlings. This country is synonymous with the Thoroughbred and we are so proud to bring international buyers to view even more of the best yearlings Ireland has to offer in the unrivalled sales complex at Kildare Paddocks this September.

“The introduction of the Goffs Million last year proved a huge hit with buyers and this year's race at the Curragh on Saturday, 24 Sept. will be a wonderful way to kick off the Orby Sale week when the contenders for the 2023 Million will be on offer within days.”

Gulfstream Park: $300,000 Rainbow 6 Jackpot Guarantee; Letruska’s Half Brother To Debut

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 gross jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $300,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for nine racing days since a lucky bettor hit the jackpot for a $118,521 payoff Friday, July 8.

The $75,000 Bear's Den, a 1 1/16-mile stakes for 3-year-olds on Tapeta, will headline Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence (Races 6-11) in Race 10.

Armando De La Cerda-trained California Frolic is slated to see his third-straight stakes victory in the Bear's Den. The son of California Chrome most recently captured the English Channel on turf and the Not Surprising on Tapeta by narrow margins following late rallies. Victor Barboza Jr.-trained Venezuelan Triumph will make his stakes debut in search of his fifth victory in his last seven starts on Tapeta and turf.

A well-stocked field of 10 fillies and mares has been assembled for Race 8, a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race over the main track. Joseph-trained Three Witches, a $350,000 yearling purchase at the 2020 Keeneland September sale, is scheduled to make her debut. The 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief is a half-sister to multiple graded-stakes winner Kid Cruz.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The Six Pix handicapping contest, linking the final three races at Gulfstream and the last three races at Saratoga, will be held for a second straight Saturday for XB Rewards members, who will compete for a $2500 prize pool.

Half-Brother to Letruska Debuts Saturday at Gulfstream

St. George Stable LLC's Prudencio, a half-brother to champion Letruska, is scheduled to debut in Saturday's Race 3, a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds, at Gulfstream Park.

Prudencio, a son of Arrogate, has been working forwardly at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream's satellite training facility in Palm Beach County, for trainer Fausto Gutierrez, who also conditions Letruska, the 2021 champion older female who is being prepared for the Aug. 27 Personal Ensign (G1) at Saratoga.

Prudencio will face seven rivals, including Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained X Y Point, a half-brother to 2017 Rebel (G2) winner Malagacy, Eddie Plesa Jr.-trained Caddy Man, a first-time starter by Bolt d'Oro, and Antonio Sano-trained Companuevo, a son of Arrogate who rallied from far back to finish second in his July 2 debut.

Edgar Perez has been named to ride Letruska's little brother.

Gutierrez, who has had a highly productive Royal Palm Meet, has recently saddled a pair of promising 2-year-old winners Mariachi Crush and Pachuca, a half-brother to Omixochitl, who captured the Miss Gracie Stakes at Gulfstream Saturday.

Overflow Field Enters Del Mar’s Eddie Read; Beyond Brilliant Likely Favorite

Sunday's 49th edition of the $250,000 Eddie Read Stakes at Del Mar has proven a popular nine-furlong spin on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course, drawing the maximum number of runners with 11 and one more besides who sits and waits on the also-eligible list.

The Grade 2 Read is named for the seaside track's first director of public relations, a role he filled exceptionally well for several decades. He helped get the track off the ground and flying high soon thereafter. His son, Tim, worked at the track for 50 years with the last few decades in the role of chief of operations. The Reads certainly have left their mark at turf and surf central.

Sunday's renewal has a likely favorite in C R K Stable's multiple-stakes winner Beyond Brilliant, a quick-footed son of Twirling Candy who has shown an affinity for the turf and comes into the feature off a smart score in the Grade 2 Charles Whittingham Stakes at Santa Anita on April 30.

Trainer John Shirreffs has named Hall of Fame rider Victor Espinoza to handle the 4-year-old Kentucky-bred and they'll break from Post 3 in the lineup coming out of Del Mar's diagonal infield chute.

Here's the full field for the Read from the rail out with riders and morning line odds:  Rockingham Ranch's Masteroffoxhounds (Juan Hernandez up, 8-1); Madaket Stables, Dubb or Strauss' Cash Equity (Florent Geroux, 12-1); Beyond Brilliant (5-2); Wertheimer & Frere's Ecrivain (Hector Berrio, 15-1); Calumet Farm's Tango Tango Tango (Declan Cannon, 8-1); Cannon Thoroughbreds' There Goes Harvard (Diego Herrera, 4-1); Nice Guys Stables' King Cause (Joe Bravo, 20-1); Team Valor International's Homer Screen (Drayden Van Dyke, 20-1); Anastasai, Ukegawa or Valezza's Hong Kong Harry (Ramon Vazquez, 7-2); Steve Moger's Tarantino (Armando Ayuso, 15-1); and Sterling Stables, Nentwig or CYBT's Cathkin Peak (Umberto Rispoli, 4-1).

The also eligible is Diaz, Valdes Baalbek Corporation or Don Alberto's Master Piece (Able Cedillo, 15-1).

Chief threats to the likely favorite appear to be Hong Kong Harry, There Goes Harvard and Cathkin Peak.

Hong Kong Harry is a 5-year-old gelding by the Irish stallion Es Que Love who has a perfect three-for-three record since coming over to the U.S. from Great Britain this year. Trainer Phil D'Amato won the Grade 3 American Stakes with him on the grass at Santa Anita on June 19 and is now stepping up to take on tougher.

There Goes Harvard comes out of a smart score in the Grade 1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita on May 30. The Will Take Charge 4-year-old colt has been first, second or third in 11 of his 12 lifetimes starts and sports a bankroll of $455,090. He's trained by Mike McCarthy.

Cathkin Peak, another Irish-bred, won an allowance race at the feature's distance on June 18 at Santa Anita in his first start of 2022. He, too, is trained by D'Amato and has made all of his nine lifetime starts on the lawn.

The Read goes as Race 9 on the 11-race Sunday card. First post is 2 p.m.
