Haggas, who is married to Derby-winning trainer William Haggas, said, “I went to see him earlier in the week and he's improving, which is good news. He's much better than he was earlier in the week and hopefully he'll be going home on either Monday or Tuesday.”

Injury Curtails Sir Bob Parker’s G1 Cazoo Derby Run

Sir Bob Parker (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) will not travel to Epsom to contest the G1 Cazoo Derby on Saturday week as he has been injured, according to trainer David Menuisier. The Michael Watt-owned colt won at second asking at Chantilly in April and was third in the G2 Prix Greffulhe to Onesto (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) on May 8.

“Sad to report our Derby hope Sir Bob Parker has sustained an injury today [Saturday] which will see him out of action for a little while,” Menuisier tweeted on Saturday. “So close, but so far from the dream race.”

Just under a score of colts remain in the Blue Riband, with Sir Michael Stoute's undefeated G2 Dante S. hero Desert Crown (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) leading the betting, with Aidan O'Brien's G3 Derby Trial S. victor Stone Age (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) close behind.
