Galileo’s Kyprios Another Ballydoyle Star At Navan

Navan's Saturday card belonged to Ballydoyle and Kyprios (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) was a key component of the stable's five-timer when taking the Listed Vintage Crop S. Entering this G1 Gold Cup pointer something of an unknown quantity, having been absent since being withdrawn from Royal Ascot's G2 Queen's Vase in June when getting upset in the stalls, he had previously been successful in a 10-furlong Cork conditions race in April and fourth in the Listed Lingfield Derby Trial in May. Returning with a vengeance to inflict a heavy defeat on his full-sister and fellow Moyglare representative Search For a Song (Ire) and the smart Baron Samedi (GB) (Harbour Watch {Ire}), the chestnut set out on the road to the Royal meeting's marathon feature June 16. Always travelling easily tracking the leader, he was committed three out and when his dual Irish St Leger-winning full-sibling came to him soon after he knuckled down and drew clear for an impressive success.

Aidan O'Brien, who was completing a black-type treble on the card, commented, “We always thought he was going to be very nice. He went to Ascot last year and jumped out under the stalls and he hasn't run since then. He looks like a stayer with a bit of class, he relished that trip. He relaxes and he quickens. If we are going to Ascot, we could have a look at the [G3] Saval Beg [at Leopardstown May 13]. We might not travel him before Ascot, but we will see.”

Kyprios is Moyglare royalty, being the last known foal out of the stellar producer Polished Gem, whose other seven black-type winners other than Search For a Song include the G1 Prince of Wales's S.-winning sire Free Eagle (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}), the seven-times group scorer Custom Cut (Ire) (Nonowcato {GB}) and the G2 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares S. winner Sapphire (Ire) (Medicean {GB}). Polished Gem, whose two other black-type winners by Galileo are Amma Grace (Ire) and Falcon Eight (Ire), is a full-sister to the GI Matriarch S. heroine Dress To Thrill (Ire) with both being out of the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas winner Trusted Partner (Affirmed), who is also the third dam of the G1 Vincent O'Brien National S. hero Thunder Moon (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}).

Dubawi’s Concert Hall Wins Informative Salsabil

Fourth behind Discoveries (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) in The Curragh's G1 Moyglare Stud S. and sixth to Inspiral (GB) (Frankel {GB}) in the G1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket either side of a win in the former venue's G3 Weld Park S. at two, Concert Hall (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) returned to add her name to the list of Oaks aspirants with a hard-fought success in Saturday's Listed Salsabil S. at Navan.
