Stakes Producers Love Spun, Show Me Added To Fasig-Tipton November Catalog

Fasig-Tipton has added two more supplemental entries to its upcoming November Sale. These latest entries are cataloged as hips 271 and 272:

  • Love Spun (Hip 271): Daughter of Hard Spun is the dam of Special Reserve, currently one of the nation's top sprinters.  Special Reserve, winner of the G2 Phoenix Stakes in his most recent start on Oct. 8, is a multiple graded stakes winner this year.  Prior to his win in the Phoenix, Special Reserve was a close second in the G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap at Saratoga. He will make his next anticipated start in the Breeders' Cup Sprint. Love Spun will be offered in foal to Cowtown Cat by St. George Sales, agent.
  • Show Me (Hip 272): Young daughter of Lemon Drop Kid is the dam of exciting 2-year-old filly Eda. Eda, the first foal out of Show Me, easily captured the Anoakia Stakes this past weekend at Santa Anita. Eda also won her debut at Santa Anita in June and finished a close second in Del Mar's G2 Sorrento Stakes in August. Show Me will be offered in foal to Munnings, carrying a full sibling to Eda. She is consigned by Paramount Sales, agent.

These entries may now be viewed online and will also be available in the equineline sales catalogue app. Printed versions of the supplemental catalog will be available on the sales grounds at sale time.

The Fasig-Tipton November Sale will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Lexington, Ky. and begins at 2 p.m.

Dams of Special Reserve and Eda to F-T November

Fasig-Tipton has added two additional supplements, both dams of current black-type winners, to the November Sale, which will be held Nov. 9 in Lexington.

Love Spun (Hard Spun–We Love Granny, by Home At Last) is the dam of Special Reserve (Midshipman), who has won or placed in five black-type events this year. The winner of Keeneland's GII Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix S. Oct 8 and second in this summer's GI Alfred G. Vanderbilt H., Special Reserve is pointing to the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint Nov. 6. Love Spun, who is catalogued as hip 271, is in foal to Cowtown Cat and will be consigned by St George Sales, agent.

The second new supplemental entry for Fasig-Tipton is Show Me (Lemon Drop Kid–Apt to Star, by Aptitude). The 8-year-old mare's first foal is juvenile filly Eda (Munnings), an easy winner of Santa Anita's Anoakia S. this past Sunday. She had previously been runner-up in the GII Sorrento S. Show Me is carrying a full-sibling to Eda and will be consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, as hip 272.

Walzertakt To Stand At Chapel Stud

Walzertakt (Ger) (Montjeu {Ire}), winner of the 2015 G2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil and G3 Prix Gladiateur for Gestut Aesculap and trainer Jean-Pierre Carvalho, moves to Chapel Stud to stand as a National Hunt sire in 2022 after four seasons at Haras de la Croix Sonnet in France.

Chapel Stud Director Roisin Close said, “Walzertakt is a big, strong, good-looking horse, a very typical stamp of his sire Montjeu. His pedigree is rapidly turning into a German masterclass of breeding, full of champions and Group 1 winners of the highest and toughest calibre. For stamina and quality, you really don't need to look any further. [Stud owners] Simon and Richard have completed a very impressive trifecta with his addition to the stallion roster; we really do have a stallion to compliment every mare.”
