The first edition of the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, which is the rebranded Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale, will be staged at Park Paddocks on Tuesday. Also held in Newmarket in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the sale remains geared towards precocious youngsters and the catalogue features 292 lots. Despite its short existence, the sale already has 10 black-type winners just in the last two years, with the leading graduates being G2 Lowther S. victress Miss Amulet (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) and G3 Molecomb S. hero Steel Bull (Ire) (Clodovil {Ire}). The 2020 edition has yielded a trio of stakes winners amongst its 41 winners thus far: Italian Group 3 winner Windstormblack (GB) (Brazen Beau {Aus}), Royal Ascot listed scorer Chipotle (GB) (Havana Gold {GB}) and Sept. 4 G3 Sirenia S. heroine Eve Lodge (GB) (Ardad {Ire}). The sale begins at 10 a.m.

A breeding right (lot 27) in promising young sire Time Test (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}-Passage of Time {GB}, by Dansilli {GB}) is one of 27 lots to be offered during the Sept. 15 Tattersalls Online Sale, the sales company announced on Monday. Other lots in the catalogue include horses-in-training with proven Flat form, a selection of breeding stock and 2-year-olds.
Already the sire of G3 Dick Poole Fillies' S. winner Romantic Time (GB), G3 Zukunfts Rennen hero Rocchigiani (GB) and listed winner Tardis (GB), The National Stud's Time Test also has the progressive G2 Debutante S. runner-up Sunset Shiraz (Ire) to his credit among his first crop of juveniles.
The winning Endured (Ire) (Shamardal) (lot 13) is offered by Brickfield Equine on behalf of Mr. Ben Wong. Rated 96p by Timeform, the 4-year-old gelding is out of the group-placed Wadaat (GB) (Diktat {GB}).
Highclere Stud sends through a trio of broodmares-the stakes placed Kelowna (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) (lot 2); Royal Whisper (GB) (Royal Applause) (lot 4), a daughter of Group 2 winner Never a Doubt (GB) (Night Shift); and Toomer (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}) (lot 5), a half-sister to stakes winner Hototo (GB) (Sleeping Indian {GB}) and the dam of triple Group 3 winner Who's Steph (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}). There are also yearlings by first-season sires Profitable (Ire) and Galileo Gold (GB) set to be offered.
Bidding will begin at noon on Sept. 14 and will close at noon on Sept. 15.

Classic winner Hurricane Lane (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) is one of 13 confirmed for the G1 Cazoo St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday. The Godolphin colt, who won the G1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and the G1 Grand Prix de Paris in June and July respectively, also ran third in the G1 Cazoo Derby for trainer Charlie Appleby.
'TDN Rising Star' High Definition (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is one of six for the Coolmore partners and Aidan O'Brien. The 2020 G2 Beresford S. victor was the winter book favourite for the Derby, but has yet to fully live up to that potential this season and exits the G2 Great Voltigeur S. with a sixth on Aug. 18. Second in that York Classic pointer was The Mediterranea (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), two better than stablemate Sir Lucan (Ire) (Camelot {GB}). The three-for-four Leopardstown listed winner Interpretation (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), and winners Carlisle Bay (Ire) (Gaileo {Ire}), third in a Group 3 at two, and King Of The Castle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) make up the sextet.
Runner-up at Epsom, Mojo Star (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) takes part for Richard Hannon, while Johnny Murtagh sends out G3 Gordon S. hero Ottoman Emperor (Ire) (Excelebration {Ire}) and Andrew Balding saddles Youth Spirit (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), third in the Great Voltigeur. Listed winner and Group 3-placed Fernando Vichi (Ire) (Australia {GB}) represents Donnacha O'Brien. The field is rounded out by Ralph Beckett trainee and listed-placed Scope (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and Roger Varian's listed heroine Save A Forest (Ire) (Kingman {GB}), who ran fourth in the G1 Cazoo Oaks.
