Brant Goes to $4.1M for Champion Uni at FTKNOV

Champion Uni (GB) (More Than Ready–Unaided, by Dansili {GB}) made another big splash during Fasig-Tipton November’s ‘Night of the Stars’ Sunday when selling for $4.1 million to Peter Brant. The chestnut, a stakes winner in both America and France as a sophomore, scored her first top-level triumph in the 2018 GI Matriarch S. and picked up tallies in the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile and GI First Lady S. last season to earn champion turf female honors. She defended her First Lady crown this fall and was fifth while attempting for back-to-back Mile victories Saturday at Keeneland. Selling as hip 228 for consignor ELiTE Sales, Uni banked over $2.6 million while winning 11 of her 22 career outings.

An 11-time winner in 15 career starts, she was a close runner-up in Saturday’s GI Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf and has banked over $2.8 million. She sold as hip 205 for consignor Indian Creek.

Spendthrift Continues FTKNOV Buying Spree, Picks Up She’s a Julie for $3M

Dual Grade I winner She’s a Julie (Elusive Quality–Kydd Gloves, by Dubai Millenium {GB}) held her own during a star-studded run of mares at Fasig-Tipton November Sunday when selling for $3 million to Spendthrift Farm, who also bought Monomoy Girl (Tapizar) and Got Stormy (Get Stormy) earlier in the sale. Originally sold for $160,000 at KEESEP, the bay took a pair of Grade III events as a 3-year-old and added the GI La Troienne S. last spring before annexing the GI Ogden Phipps S. this year. The millionaire sold as hip 208 for consignor Denali Stud.

Monomoy Girl to Return to Cox for 6-Year-Old Campaign After Selling to Spendthrift

Monomoy Girl (Tapizar), who sold to Spendthrift Farm for a whopping $9.5 million Sunday at Fasig-Tipton November, will stay in training and return to trainer Brad Cox as a 6-year-old in 2021, Spendthrift general manager Ned Toffey reported. Toffey also said that the same would be true for Got Stormy (Get Stormy), who the farm bought for $2.75 million earlier in the evening and will return to conditioner Mark Casse to race as a 6-year-old.
