The parade is typically limited to first- and second-year stallions, but breeders will have a wider range of sires to view this year with the invitation being extended to those whose advertised fee sits at £15,000 or less. Breeders who purchase a nomination will also be entered into a free prize draw thanks to a new incentive launched by Tattersalls in support of the parade, giving them the chance to win one of five complimentary foal entries at the 2025 December Foal Sale.

To be entered into the prize draw, breeders need to sign a service contract for one of the stallions within 24 hours of the parade. All of the stallions can be viewed from 11 a.m. in the sales ring, as well as in the Left Yard and Terrace Yard after the parade hosted by racing broadcaster Gina Bryce and Shirley Anderson-Jolag of Tattersalls.

Along with A'Ali, Caturra and Stradivarius, the stallion show will also feature El Caballo (GB), Lope Y Fernandez (Ire), Midnight Sands, Mutasaabeq (GB), Soldier's Call (GB), Twilight Son (GB) and Ulysses (Ire).

Tattersalls associate director and TBA trustee, Matt Prior said, “We are delighted to be once again supporting the TBA Flat Stallion Parade and the revised format along with the new incentive scheme we are offering alongside the TBA will hopefully encourage breeders to come along and purchase a nomination.”

The Flat Stallion parade is a key event which offers a great opportunity to promote an array of British-based stallions to breeders and to suit all mares and budgets. Two new awards have been added to the evening for 2021–the Filly of Merit Award, given to the breeder of a British-bred filly who has had significant success on the racecourse in 2020 and the Barton Stud-sponsored Industry Merit Award, which recognises those making progress to expand the reach of the British breeding industry.

In addition to a quartet of stallion statistical awards, the H J Joel Silver Salver shall be presented for Broodmare of the Year (nominees: Beach Frolic, Night Gypsy, Roodeye, Shastye), the Queen's Silver Cup for Leading British-based Flat breeder (TBA), the TBA Silver Rose Bowl to the Flat Breeder of the Year (nominees: Bearstone Stud, Godolphin, Highclere Stud &

Floors Farming, Juddmonte), the Langham Cup, which is awarded to the small breeder of the year (nominees: Anita Wigan, Gaie Johnson Houghton, George Strawbridge, Homecroft Wealth Racing) and the TBA Silver Salver, which is a special merit award (nominees: Anita Wigan, Gaie Johnson Houghton, George Strawbridge, Homecroft Wealth Racing).

The perpetual Charlie Langton bronze, along with a cash prize of £2,000 will be presented to this year's winner of the TBA Stud Employee Award, which is sponsored by New England Stud. Short-listed candidates will also receive a £250 cash prize. Nominees for the award will be announced at a later date.

The evening also features the European Breeders' Fund Stallion Special Merit Award, highlighting the milestones and achievements of British Based stallions who may otherwise go under the radar based in purely statistically driven awards.

Fully funded by the Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the Racing Foundation, the E2SE course started in 2018 and provides practical work-based training for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the Thoroughbred industry, but are lacking relevant experience. Once the course is completed, students who have achieved the required standard will have an interview for a minimum six to nine months paid position at a UK Thoroughbred stud farm.

“As we all know it has been a difficult year and so we are especially proud of these students and all they have achieved in nine short weeks,” said Fiona Dowling, Education Manager. “The majority had never worked with horses before coming to The National Stud and the level of improvement is just incredible. We are very excited to follow their careers and see them make a valuable contribution to the industry in the future.”
