The seasons were donated by breeders in six states, including several leading farms in Central Kentucky. To date, the sale has raised over $600,000 for the PDJF.

“The season donors as well as the buyers in both racing industries upped their game this year to help those former jockeys who gave a big part of lives to this sport and we thank them all,” said Jockeys and Jeans President Barry Pearl.

Jockeys and Jeans, founded in late 2014 by five former jockeys, has raised over $2.7 million for the PDJF through an annual fund-raising event and stallion season sale.

The TCA’s Online Season Auction features over 150 seasons and runs from Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 8 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Featured in the online auction are seasons to such sires as Candy Ride (Arg), English Channel, Ghostzapper, Gun Runner, Liam’s Map, More Than Ready, Outwork, Paynter, Speightstown, Tapiture, Union Rags and Violence.

A Select Season Auction will take place Tuesday, Jan. 12, following the conclusion of selling on day two of Book 1 of the Keeneland January Sale. Offered in this auction are seasons to Blame, Constitution, Curlin, Laoban, Nyquist (with a 2022 breed back) and Quality Road. The majority of the seasons will sell during the online auction, however select seasons including Blame, Constitution, Curlin, Game Winner, Laoban, Nyquist (with 2022 breed back), and Quality Road will be sold in a live auction in the Keeneland Sales Pavilion Jan. 12 at the close of session two, book one of the January sale. Proceeds from the online auction will fund three stakes races for all 2022 offspring of stallions whose seasons are sold at this auction: The 2024 Stallion Futurity and two 2025 Stallion Stakes races for 3-year-olds, one for colts and one for fillies. A $5,000 bonus will be paid to the winner of any of the three races if the foal is conceived from a breeding season purchased at the auction. Donators of stallion seasons are also eligible to receive a $5,000 per race bonus.
