Snapper Sinclair (City Zip–True Addiction, by Yes It's True) will retire to stud at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds for the 2023 breeding season. He will stand for $5,000 live foal, stands and nurses.

Raced by Jeff Bloom's Bloom Racing Stable and trained by Steve Asmussen, the popular bay was known for his durability, posting a career record of 39-7-9-4 and earnings of over $1.8 million. The three-time stakes winner on grass was also second in the 2020 GI Cigar Mile H.

The $30,000 KEESEP yearling and $180,000 OBS April 2-year-old was bred in Kentucky by K & G Stables.

“I love this horse because he showed up every time, whether dirt or turf, sprinting or two turns,” Bloom said. “He raced in the toughest company throughout his career and always tried.”

Asmussen had equal praise.

“What a cool horse, he's so versatile–could run on any surface and would run against anyone,” Asmussen said. “I love him and believe he deserves a chance at stud.”

John McMahon added that, “his combination of race record, pedigree and high regard for connections of Jeff Bloom and Steve Asmussen convinced us. You never know from where a stallion might come and his sire City Zip started in New York at $7,500 before he moved to Lane's End and became a leading sire. You think about iconic stallions like Storm Cat, Tapit, War Front and Into Mischief and they all stood for $10,000 at one time, and we believe Snapper Sinclair has enough of the right ingredients to become a successful stallion.”

Edited Press Release

Flightline (Tapit-Feathered, by Indian Charlie), who is rated among the best racehorses in history after his momentous 19 1/4-length victory in the GI Pacific Classic this month, will enter stud as the property of a syndicate at Lane's End Farm upon the conclusion of his racing career.

From a prolific Phipps family, Flightline was bred by Jane Lyon's Summer Wind Farm and is raced by Summer Wind in partnership with Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing. A $1-million Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling purchase from the Lane's End consignment, Flightline is trained by John Sadler and has been ridden in all five of his starts by Flavien Prat.

Flightline displayed star power right from the beginning, winning on debut in April of 2021 at Santa Anita Park. His 13 1/4-length victory earned him 'TDN Rising Star' status and a Beyer Speed Figure of 105. He was scintillating in a first-level allowance at Del Mar at second asking, winning by 12 3/4 lengths and earning a 114 Beyer.

Making his stakes debut in the GI Malibu S. in December of 2021, Flightline continued to assert his dominance, winning by 11 1/2 lengths for a 118 Beyer. Next seen in the GI Metropolitan H. at Belmont Park on June 11, Flightline overcame a troubled trip to score by six lengths, earning a 112 Beyer.

The Pacific Classic on Sept. 3 was Flightline's first attempt stretching out to two turns and a mile and a quarter. It proved to be his most dominant performance to date, as he drew off from G1 Dubai World Cup winner Country Grammer (Tonalist) and GI Santa Anita H. winner Express Train (Union Rags) to win by 19 1/4 lengths, earning a Beyer of 126–the joint second-highest Beyer since Daily Racing Form began publishing Beyer Speed Figures 30 years ago. Thoro-Graph assigned Flightline a – 8 1/2, the fastest number it has ever given out. Flightline's Pacific Classic performance resonated overseas, too: Timeform assigned him a rating of 143, the highest number ever given to an American-trained horse. Flightline also sits atop Timeform's 2022 global rankings, ahead of Shadwell's unbeaten European superstar Baaeed (See The Stars {Ire}). He has earned nearly $1.4-million, and is being pointed for the GI Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland on Nov. 5.

Flightline is out of Jane Lyon's Feathered, a daughter of Indian Charlie who won the GIII Edgewood S. at Churchill Downs and finished second in both the GI American Oaks and GI Starlet S. and third in the GI Frizette S. It is an excellent Phipps family, the third dam being the GI Matron S. and GI Acorn S. winner Finder's Fee (Storm Cat), and the fourth dam GISW Fantastic Find (Mr. Prospector).

Last trained by Todd Pletcher while campaigning for the partnership of Red Oak Stable, Peter Brant, and Gainesway Stable, Per Capita was offered at the recent Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale as a racing or stallion prospect. Alvarez Racing purchased the chestnut for $60,000 and retired him to stand at Fleming. Per Capita goes to the breeding shed with a record of 8-2-2-2 and earnings of $134,140.

“We are excited to offer a horse from one of the strongest Gainesway families to breeders in Arizona,” said Dylon Alvarez. “We will strongly support Per Capita with our broodmare band and plan to privately acquire a few more mares specifically to complement his pedigree.”

In addition to his graded-winning full-brothers, Per Capita also is a half-brother to 2013 GI Test S. winner Sweet Lulu (Mr. Greeley). He will be the first son of leading sire Tapit to stand in Arizona. His 2022 fee will be $2,000, S&N.

Allied Racing's MGSW By My Standards (Goldencents–A Jealous Woman, by Muqtarib) has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Spendthrift Farm, standing the 2022 breeding season for a fee of $7,500 S&N.

“By My Standards came up with a quarter crack that was going to force us to miss the rest of our goals before the breeding season, so the decision was made for him to retire,” explained Chester Thomas, owner and manager of Allied Racing Stable. “It's a bittersweet day because this is a special horse who deserved to win a Grade I and was very unlucky not to. However, I'm proud he is retiring happy and healthy, and I couldn't be more excited about him going to Spendthrift where he'll get the best opportunity to become a great sire, just like his sire and grandsire there.”

Spendthrift General Manager Ned Toffey added, “We are thrilled to be able to stand By My Standards and are thankful to Chester for the opportunity. Obviously, this is a sire line we know very well and just have tremendous confidence in. By My Standards really embodies the heart and ability that have become so signature to the Into Mischief line. In fact, only his sire Goldencents and Authentic [both standing at Spendthrift] have higher earnings than By My Standards among all the great racehorses from the Into Mischief sire line.”

Trained by Bret Calhoun, the $150,000 OBS juvenile purchase broke his maiden and followed up with a score in the GII Louisiana Derby, winning over eventual GI Kentucky Derby winner Country House and GI Preakness S. winner War of Will. At four, he captured his first three starts of the year, including the GII New Orleans Classic at Fair Grounds and the GII Oaklawn H. and subsequently added a victory in the GII Alysheba S. at Churchill Downs. He also was runner-up in Saratoga's GI Whitney H. and GII Stephen Foster S. This term, the 5-year-old won the Oaklawn Mile before finishing runner-up in the GI Met Mile at Belmont. He retires to Spendthrift with a record of seven wins and five seconds from 17 starts and earnings of $2,294,430.

By My Standards will participate in Spendthrift's “Share The Upside” breeding program for a fee of $8,500 for one year. Additionally, breeders must breed one mare in 2023 on a complimentary basis. After the breeder has a live foal in 2023, pays the stud fee, and breeds a mare back, he or she will earn a lifetime breeding right beginning in 2024.

“Everyone who got in on the Share The Upside program for Into Mischief and Goldencents has enjoyed a lot of success, and we believe By My Standards is the next in line,” said Toffey. “I invite all breeders to come out and see him during the November sales, as he will be available for inspection immediately and will be shown Nov. 10-19 daily from 1-3pm.”

Mr. Money (Goldencents–Plenty O’Toole, by Tiznow) has been retired from racing and will enter stud in 2021 at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud in Ocala, Florida. Mr. Money will stand as the property of Allied Racing LLC and Spendthrift Farm for $5,000 live foal in the 2021 breeding season.

During his juvenile season, Mr. Money hit the board in his first two starts before breaking his maiden by 3 3/4 lengths going a mile and a sixteenth at Churchill Downs. The bay rounded out the season with a fourth behind Game Winner (Candy Ride {Arg}) in the GI Sentient Jet Breeder’s Cup Juvenile.

At three, the Bret Calhoun trainee annexed the GIII Pat Day S., GIII Matt Winn S., GIII Indiana Derby and GIII West Virginia Derby before finishing second, beaten a nose, by Math Wizard (Algorithms) in the $1,000,000 GI Pennsylvania Derby, finishing ahead of GI Preakness S. winner War of Will (War Front), GISW Improbable (City Zip), and GI Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile winner, Spun to Run (Hard Spun). This term, the 4-year-old won the GIII Ack Ack S. and retires with six wins from 18 starts and earnings of $1,360,430.

“Mr. Money is as well named as a horse can be,” Brent Fernung said. “He went where the big money was and took home a bunch of it. He won four consecutive graded stakes as a three-year-old and probably should have won the Pennsylvania Derby as well!”

He continued, “As a son of leading third crop sire, Goldencents, Mr. Money brings that super prolific Into Mischief sire line to Florida in the form of a truly top racehorse.”

Mr. Money is the second foal out of the Tiznow mare, Plenty O’Toole. She has three other foals of racing age, including additional winner Julia’s Kitty. Plenty O’Toole’s stakes producing dam, O’Toole (Distorted Humor), is a full-sister to G1 Dubai World Cup winner, Well Armed who earned over $5 million.

Chester Thomas, whose Allied Racing LLC raced Mr. Money in partnership with Spendthrift Farm said, “I couldn’t be more proud to stand Mr. Money at Journeyman Stud. He was an incredibly talented race horse with tons of class coupled with speed and endurance. I intend to breed a dozen or so of my own mares to Mr. Money. I have a huge amount of confidence in him.”

Classic winner and dual-surface multiple Grade I winner War of Will (War Front–Visions of Clarity {Ire}, by Sadler’s Wells) has been officially retired and arrived at the Hancock family’s Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky., Monday morning to prepare for the 2021 breeding season. War of Will will stand for $25,000 live foal, stands and nurses.

Trained by Mark Casse for Gary Barber, War of Will burst onto the Triple Crown trail last year with consecutive wins in the GIII LeComte S. and the GII Risen Star S. before capturing the GI Preakness S. Switched to the lawn this year, he added the GI Maker’s Mark Mile S. at Keeneland, a victory that put the versatile bay in rarified air with Grade I victories on both the dirt and turf. War of Will also placed in the GI Ricoh Woodbine Mile S. this year, the GI Pennsylvania Derby last year, and the GI Summer S. at two. Last seen off the board in Saturday’s GI Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, he retires with a record of 18-5-1-3 and earnings of $1,881,803.

War of Will, who is out of a half-sister to European champion, Breeders’ Cup winner, and sire Spinning World (Nureyev), will be available for inspection by breeders Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Champion Game Winner (Candy Ride {Arg}–Indyan Giving, by A.P. Indy) has been retired from racing and will stand the 2021 season at Lane’s End in Versailles, Kentucky. A stud fee will be forthcoming.

During his championship juvenile season, ‘TDN Rising Star‘ Game Winner was undefeated in four starts–a 5 3/4-length score in his career unveiling at Del Mar followed by the GI Del Mar Futurity, GI American Pharoah S. and GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs. After earning the champion 2-year-old title for the 2018 season, he returned at three to finish runner-up in the GI Santa Anita Derby and GII Rebel S. and finished fifth in the GI Kentucky Derby.

“As a 2-year-old, he was just phenomenal and he really brought it to that Championship level,” said Bob Baffert. “To do what he did really showed that he was the best of the best. Candy Ride was a brilliant racehorse and he throws brilliance, and with Game Winner, the minute he showed that brilliance, I knew we had something special.”

Game Winner was most recently seen winning the GIII Los Alamitos Derby by five lengths.

“After the Los Al Derby, he had a high suspensory injury, and Bob was trying to work through it and get him over it, and never could to his satisfaction,” said Lane’s End’s Bill Farish.

Bred in Kentucky by Summer Wind Farm, Game Winner is out of Indyan Giving, who has also produced graded-stakes winner Flagstaff (Speightstown). His second dam is Champion Fleet Indian who won five graded stakes and earned over $1 million. To date, his sire Candy Ride has produced 16 Grade I winners and is the fourth leading active sire by lifetime earnings.

“Champion 2-year-olds make great sires,” added Farish. “Street Sense, Uncle Mo, American Pharoah, and now Nyquist looks very promising. All were the very best of their generation and now are among the elite stallions in America. Game Winner dominated in his championship year and was a graded-stakes winner at three. He is a champion from the immediate family of a champion, so we are honored that Gary and Mary West have entrusted Lane’s End with his stallion career.”

Consigned by Lane’s End to the 2017 Keeneland September Sale, Game Winner realized $110,000 from agent Ben Glass.

“Mary and I have been excited about Game Winner since the day Ben Glass bought him for us at Keeneland,” said Gary West, who campaigned the champion colt. “These special horses are so hard to come by and to have a Champion means everything to us. I am so pleased he will stand at Lane’s End and I plan on supporting him extensively as I have with my other stallions, alongside the superior group of shareholders they have put together.”

“This includes Alpha Delta, Summer Wind Farm, SF Bloodstock, Mt. Brilliant Farm, Sea Horse Breeders, West Point and St. Elias. They are among the best breeders in America and undoubtedly will support him and contribute greatly to his chances to be a successful stallion.”
