Group 2 winner Just Beautiful (GB) (Pride Of Dubai {Aus}) will not participate at Royal Ascot, and will instead point toward targets later in the summer with a trip to the Breeders' Cup also a possibility, trainer Paddy Twomey revealed on Friday.

The 5-year-old Moyglare Stud colourbearer ran fifth in the G3 Athasi S. at the Curragh in early May, before taking the G2 Lanwades Stud S. later in the month. The G1 Falmouth S., as well as the G1 Prix Rothschild–both in July–and the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest in August are potential targets for the progressive bay.

Twomey said, “She's not going [to Ascot]. I would say she will go to Deauville maybe. We may look at the Falmouth, but she might go to France for the Prix Maurice De Gheest or Prix Rothschild.”

The trainer added, “The long-term aim would be the [GI] Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita [in November].”

Mohamed Obaida's Dubai Honour (Ire) (Pride Of Dubai {Aus}) defeated dual Group 1 scorer Mo'unga (NZ) (Savabeel {Aus}) and nine-time Group 1 winner Anamoe (Aus) (Street Boss) to win the G1 Queen Elizabeth S. at Randwick during the second weekend of The Championships on Saturday.

The William Haggas trainee claimed the G1 Ranvet S. at Rosehill in March, and his two top-level victories have his trainer feeling “pretty keen” to add an Australian satellite yard to his operation.

Haggas, who would likely share the base with Andrew Balding according to Australian reports, told Sky Racing World, “[Balding] He's very keen and I'm pretty keen so we'll see what happens.

“Anamoe is a great horse, take nothing away from him. But this horse has come forward for being here and he's won well today. Don't underestimate him. He's a pretty good horse and he was never quite right last year and he was boxing against some good horses–top, top horses.”

The 5-year-old gelding, who won a brace of Group 2s in 2021, was reunited with regular pilot Tom Marquand, who pulled off the Ranvet/Queen Elizabeth double with the Haggas-trained Addeybb (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) in 2020. That gelding would repeat in the latter in 2021, again with Marquand in the irons.

Marquand said, “For the boss to target the Queen Elizabeth with another horse and pull it off, it's just insane.

“Genuinely, I've jumped aboard this horse on the right day at the right time and it's everyone else behind it that got the job done. All I had to do was point and shoot.”

Another international race, the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin in Hong Kong, is one of the probable targets for Dubai Honour on Apr. 30.

Mohamed Obaida's Dubai Honour (Ire) (Pride of Dubai {Aus}) stepped out of handicap company to garner Deauville's Aug. 14 G2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano in his most recent outing and produced a telling burst at the end of Saturday's G2 Qatar Prix Dollar to double his pattern-race tally in impressive fashion. Settled off a steady tempo in ninth after the initial exchanges, the 5-2 favourite made eyecatching headway out wide in the straight to launch his challenge passing the furlong marker and kept on powerfully under a continued drive in the closing stages to win going away by 1 1/2 lengths from Magny Cours (Medaglia d'Oro), completing a clean sweep of the card's stakes races for British raiders.

“It's turning into quite a good day and, beforehand, all my rides looked to have good chances on paper,” explained James Doyle after claiming his third winner of the afternoon. “I was quietly confident, but I've had other days like that at Longchamp where you think you could ride a few winners and nothing happens. It was difficult to assess Dubai Honour's chances as he'd won a strong handicap at Newmarket on quicker ground and the race kind of set up for closers in Deauville last time, but you couldn't knock that performance today. I was in two minds what to do from a tricky draw. I could have pushed him forward to get a position, but I decided we'd be brave and hang on. It's a long straight down to the second winning post and there was never really a moment's worry.”

“He is an exciting prospect and is probably even better on good ground,” added the owner's representative and former jockey Philip Robinson. “There's a possibility he might go to Hong Kong for the International meeting in December. He could also run in between, but nothing is certain at this moment. If he doesn't go to Hong Kong, we'll see him again next year instead.”

Dubai Honour is the first foal bred from the unraced Mondelice (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}), herself a half-sister to G3 Prix Daphnis victor Last Kingdom (Frankel {GB}). Dubai Honour's G1 Phoenix S.-winning third dam Damson (Ire) (Entrepreneur {GB}), who also landed the G2 Queen Mary S. at two, is the dam of G2 Flying Childers S. and G3 Molecomb S.-winning sire Requinto (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) and the second dam of G3 Eulogy S. winner Lilikoi (NZ) (Charm Spirit {Ire}). The next dam Tadkiyra (Ire) (Darshaan {GB}) produced G3 Prestige S. victrix Geminiani (Ire) (King of Kings {Ire}) and is kin to four stakes winners including G3 Prix Messidor victor Tassmoun (Kalamoun {GB}) and Listed Chester S. victrix Tarikhana (Ire) (Mouktar {Ire}), herself responsible for G1 Prix Royal-Oak hero Tiraaz (Lear Fan). Tadkiyra is also a half-sister to G3 Princess Royal S. victrix Tashtiya (Ire) (Shergar {GB}), herself the fourth dam of the card's G2 Prix de Chaudenay victor Manobo (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Mondelice has the unraced 2-year-old filly Shishito (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), a yearling colt by Cracksman (GB) and a weanling colt by Invincible Spirit (Ire) to come.

There was a surprise in store at Deauville on Saturday, with the feature G2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano Haras du Logis Saint-Germain going to one of the lesser-fancied of the British raiders in Dubai Honour (Ire) (Pride of Dubai {Aus}) from the red-hot William Haggas stable. Last seen beating the subsequent G3 Rose of Lancaster S. winner Foxes Tales (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) by a head in receipt of nine pounds in a heritage handicap over this 10-furlong trip at Newmarket July 9, the gelding who sports the Mohamed Obaida silks raced in rear early as Maxime Guyon waited off the strong pace. Coming alive in the straight, the 11-1 shot was able to reel in the leaders with relative ease passing the furlong pole and draw away for a comfortable 1 3/4-length defeat of Pretty Tiger (Ire) (Sea the Moon {Ger}). In doing so, he completed a group-race treble for his yard after the wins of Cloudy Dawn (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in this track's G3 Prix de Lieurey and Sacred (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) in the G2 Hungerford S. “The trainer showed some confidence, but he did say that I'd do well not being too far from the pace,” Guyon commented. “That was not easy from his eight draw and with the pace strong I had to travel at the back. When I moved between horses, he really changed gears and that was something that the trainer wasn't certain he could do. I tell you, this horse knows how to quicken!”

Dubai Honour, who was off the mark at the third attempt trying a mile for the first time at Haydock in September, had been gelded after a subsequent fourth in a nursery at that trip at York the following month. Making his reappearance in Royal Ascot's always-competitive Britannia H. staying at a mile June 17, he performed with credit in that tough re-entry to lead home all on the far side only to finish fourth overall before moving up to this trip to outstay the classy Foxes Tales in a strong handicap at the July meeting. Despite TDN Rising Star Derab (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) and the G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Philomene (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) failing to meet expactations here, the form has a solid look and there was no hint of fluke in the winner's dominant performance.

The one-day Goffs UK Autumn Sale catalogue is now online. Set to begin at 10 a.m. at Doncaster on Oct. 22, the sale will be split into three portions: the Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale (lots 1-195), the Silver Yearling Sale (lots 196-254) and finally the Autumn Yearling Sale (lots 255-308). Jumpers primarily feature in the Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale, but there are a few Flat performers sprinkled in like the 89-rated two-time winner Confide (GB) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) (lot 49) from Lodge Farm Stud. The Silver and Autumn Yearling Sales offer 113 yearlings between them by the likes of Bated Breath (GB), Belardo (Ire), Due Diligence, Havana Gold (Ire), Pride of Dubai (Aus) and Twilight Son (GB) to name a few.

“This year hosts a different format compared to the traditional Autumn Sale with a notable addition, the Silver Yearling Sale, and a significant absence in the full Point-to-Point/Form Horse Session,” said Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent. “The inclusion of the Silver Sale will give buyers access to more commercial yearlings and both yearling sales have proven their ability to produce Group 1 horses with the likes of Quiet Reflection and Mabs Cross coming from their ranks.

“The shifting of the sale’s Point-to-Point/Form Horse Session away from this date, to a stand alone sale two weeks later on Friday, 6, Nov., means we can offer point-to-point handlers and buyers a dedicated P2P Sale. That being said, this sale has some smart performers catalogued and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Doncaster in just over two weeks.”

Allowed to start at 66-1 for Saturday’s G3 Betway Sweet Solera S. at Newmarket, the €3,500 bargain buy Star of Emaraaty (Ire) belied those odds to emerge with the prize and provide her Coolmore-based first-season sire Pride of Dubai (Aus) with a first European black-type winner. Outpaced briefly at halfway having chased the early pace, the chestnut who was fourth in the Listed Star S. over this seven-furlong trip at Sandown July 21 drifted to the centre of the track as she began to enter contention under Kevin Stott. Reeling in the 5-2 co-favourite Dubai Fountain (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) in the final half a furlong, the Ontoawinner syndicate colour-bearer asserted for a 1 1/4-length success, with a neck beck to the 80-1 shot Seattle Rock (GB) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) in third. Another of the co-favourites, Fly Miss Helen (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}), unfortunately broke down mid-race to add a sad postscript to the race.

Sent to Royal Ascot 13 days after her debut second in a six-furlong Haydock novice contest June 7, Star of Emaraaty was 11th in the five-furlong G2 Queen Mary S. before making all over an extended seven furlongs at Ayr July 13. Tried again following her effort in the Star at Sandown, she was comfortable with the tempo early but needed time to warm up as her peers started to roll approaching the downhill section of the track. Despite her veer away from the pack as she plundered into the “dip”, she was travelling with momentum coming back the other side and there was no hint of fluke at the end of a true test at the distance. “She was 66-1 and I don’t think she should have been that price,” Stott said. “She got a bit unbalanced going into the dip, but saw the trip out well once we met the rising ground. Kevin [Ryan] has always been keen on her and she’s been doing everything right at home, so fair play to her. She’s quite a big filly and has still got a bit of improving to do, so she should be a nice horse for next year.”

Ryan added, “She got very unbalanced at Sandown and there was a risk of it happening again coming to Newmarket, but I thought she would have a fair chance of handling it if he got her down the hill and we knew when she hit the rising ground she would come home well. She is quite a laid-back filly and she will improve with racing.”

Star of Emaraaty, who was offered in the Tattersalls Ascot Online June Sale but was unsold at £115,000, is out of La Grande Elisa (Ad Valorem) who is a half-sister to the recently-deceased triple group 1-winning sire Rip Van Winkle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), as well as the G3 Premio del Piazzale winner La Vie Infinite (Ire) (La Vie Dei Colori {GB}). Rip Van Winkle’s full-sister A Star Is Born (Ire) produced another significant Ballydoyle runner in the listed-winning G1 Middle Park S. runner-up Fleet Review (War Front). Also connected to the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup heroine Danish (Ire) (Danehill) and her full-brother Ace (Ire) who was runner-up in the GI Breeders’ Cup Turf, her yearling filly is by Moohaajim (Ire).

Coolmore-based sire Pride of Dubai (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}) became the latest European freshman off the mark when the twice-raced juvenile Star of Emaraaty (Ire) survived a stewards’ enquiry to prevail in Monday’s EBF Stallions Fillies’ Novice Auction S. over an extended seven furlongs at Ayr. In front throughout, the 2-1 second favourite came under ever-increasing pressure inside the final quarter mile and was ridden out in the closing stages to deny Party Spirit (GB) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) by a neck.

STAR OF EMARAATY (IRE) (f, 2, Pride of Dubai {Aus}–La Grande Elisa {Ire}, by Ad Valorem) shaped with promise when a June 7 debut second over six furlongs at Haydock, posting an 11th of 18 to Campanelle (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) dropped to five for Royal Ascot’s June 20 G2 Queen Mary S. next time, and hit the lids ready for immediate control of this first try at seven furlongs. Scrubbed along when threatened approaching the quarter-mile marker, the 2-1 second favourite came under ever-increasing pressure thereafter and, despite instigating a stewards’ enquiry when drifting right inside the final furlong, was ridden out to hold the persistent presence of Party Spirit (GB) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) by a neck, becoming the first winner for her Coolmore Stud-based freshman sire (by Street Cry {Ire}). Kin to a yearling filly by Moohaajim (Ire), the February-foaled chestnut is the fourth of five foals and second scorer produced by a half-sister to MG1SW sire Rip Van Winkle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), G3 Premio Enrico Camici-winning sire Le Vie Infinite (Ire) (Le Vie Dei Colori {GB}) and to the dam of stakes-winning G1 Middle Park S. runner-up Fleet Review (War Front).
