Last year's brilliant G1 1,000 Guineas winner Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) has been retired, Godolphin announced on Wednesday. She will now join the operation's broodmare band having failed to sparkle on what proved to be her final racecourse appearance when finishing last of the nine runners in last month's G1 Jebel Hatta at Meydan.

Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Mawj was a high-class juvenile when her victories included the G2 Duchess Of Cambridge S. at Newmarket's July Festival. Last season, she won twice in Dubai before gaining the most prestigious success of her career when defeating the hitherto unbeaten Tahiyra (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}) in the 1,000 Guineas, ultimately getting the verdict by half a length following a sustained duel between the pair.

That Classic victory on the Rowley Mile was followed by a five-month spell on the sidelines due to a setback, but Mawj proved all her ability remained intact when returning with two good efforts stateside in the autumn, first winning the GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. at Keeneland before suffering a narrow defeat to Master Of The Seas (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the GI Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

Mawj's Keeneland win was a 500th in Group company for Bin Suroor, who paid tribute to his stable star on Wednesday when saying, “Mawj is a very special filly, who showed her brilliance throughout her racing career. It was a fantastic day when she won the 1,000 Guineas and I was especially pleased that it was her who provided me with my 500th Group race victory out in Keeneland.

“She proved herself against the best horses across the world, winning in Dubai, the UK and the United States as well as finishing second in a Breeders' Cup Mile. Everyone at Al Quoz and Godolphin Stables is going to miss her but we look forward to the next stage of her life as a broodmare.”

Mawj joins her dam Modern Ideals (GB) (New Approach {Ire}), who is proving a notable broodmare for Godolphin having also produced the Listed winner/Group 3-placed Modern News (GB) (Shamardal) and the five-time Group 1 winner Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi). Modern Games, who notably won at the Breeders' Cup in successive years when landing the GI Juvenile Turf in 2021 and GI Mile in 2022, stands for £30,000 in his first year at Dalham Hall Stud in 2024.

Classic winner Mawj (Ire) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) will be prepared for a winter campaign in Dubai, trainer Saeed bin Suroor said. The 3-year-old filly, who won the G1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May and the GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland last month, finished second in Saturday's GI Breeders' Cup Mile behind Master of the Seas (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}).

“She ran a huge race and we thought she was going to win, but she was beaten by a good horse, also a Godolphin horse, and I'm happy for Charlie [Appleby],” bin Suroor commented. “Our filly is tough and hard and it was the first time she ran with the colts. She proved herself good enough to be with them.

“Oisin [Murphy] gave her a very good ride, he did everything right and she ran a huge race. Now she is going back to Dubai and we'll try and find a race for her, maybe the [G1] Jebel Hatta and then the [G1] Dubai Turf. After that we'll find races for her in the UK and Europe. I think a mile is her best trip, but sometimes it can be hard to find races for her. I know she won over nine furlongs at Keeneland, but at the mile I think she is at her best.”

In this series, the TDN takes a look at notable successes of European-based sires in North America. This week's column is highlighted by the victory of Mawj in the GI Queen Elizabeth II Cup S. presented by Dixiana Farms at Keeneland last weekend.

Classic Filly Comes Good At Keeneland

Godolphin homebred Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}), already a winner of the G1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, doubled her top-level tally in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. at Keeneland on Saturday and gave trainer Saeed bin Suroor his 500th group/graded win in the process (video).

A half-sister to Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), an Eclipse Award champion in the U.S. and soon to be a Darley stallion, as well as the stakes winner Modern News (GB) (Shamardal) who was twice group placed, Mawj is followed by a juvenile filly by Mastercraftsman (Ire) and a weanling filly by Dubawi. Her dam is a half-sister to G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner and sire Ultra (Ire) (Manduro {Ger}), and her great granddam is the Italian champion Proskona (Mr. Prospector).

One of 18 worldwide Group 1 winners for her former Darley reverse shuttle sire, Mawj is one of three Grade I winners in the U.S. after GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner-turned-sire Outstrip (GB) and Mischief Magic (Ire), who landed the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. Exceed And Excel's 42 Stateside runners have resulted in 23 winners (55%) and 11 stakes winners (26%).

Luck O' The Irish For Ten Sovereigns Colt

Robert and Lawana Low's Irish Gent (Ire) (Ten Sovereigns {Ire}) became the 24th winner for his sire at third asking when taking an off-turf affair during the Belmont at the Big A meeting for trainer Todd Pletcher (video).

Bred by Denis McCarthy, the dark bay made €130,000 as a Goffs November foal when purchased by Pier House Stud. his value rose appreciably to €500,000 when he was sent back through that ring during the Orby Sale, where Jacob West picked out the son of Indigo Butterfly (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) on behalf of the Lows. The third and last reported foal from his dam is a relative of G1 Jebel Hatta hero Dream Castle (GB) (Frankel {GB}) and that gelding's full-sister With The Moonlight (Ire), who was a three-time group/graded winner and third in the GI E. P. Taylor S.

Coolmore's Ten Sovereigns already has three stakes winners in his first crop of 2-year-olds internationally. Represented by just three runners in the U.S. so far, Irish Gent is the stallion's first American winner.

Brant Runner Collects In New York

Peter Brant homebred Francesco Clemente (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) won a Belmont at the Big A contest for Chad Brown on Thursday (video).

A winner of his first three starts for John and Thady Gosden in the UK last year, the White Birch Farm-bred earned black-type with a second in the Listed Festival S. in May. The half-brother to the multiple stakes winner and multiple group-placed Abingdon (Street Cry {Ire}) was switched to the U.S. after a start in the Listed Wolferton S. at Royal Ascot. His dam Justlookdon'touch (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is a half-sister to the influential champion Islington (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), and produced Dubawi full-siblings as her latest foals–a 3-year-old colt named Howeitat (Ire) and a 2-year-old filly christened Birkin (Ire).

Darley's Dubawi now has 37 winners from 77 runners in the U.S. (48%). His 19 North American stakes winners (25%) are anchored by three-time Grade I winner In Italian (GB).

Just a few days removed from his 70th birthday, Pat Day joined the TDN Writers' Room podcast presented by Keeneland to talk his career, what he's been up to since retiring in 2005 and, most of all, the Breeders' Cup. Day rode Wild Again to victory in the inaugural GI Breeders' Cup Classic in 1984 and it was an historic win that helped turn the future Hall of Famer into one of the biggest stars in the sport. Day was this week's Green Group Guest of the Week.

“What that race meant for my career was monumental,” Day said. “First of all, let me back up. In January of 84, that was when I came to Christ. I was a stone alcoholic and a drug addict and was still highly successful in the midst of that. On January 27th of 1984, I accepted Christ into my life and got set free from that addictive lifestyle. I recognized that God had blessed me with tremendous talent and ability and opportunities and I started treating that with the respect that it deserved. Subsequently, I had an incredible year capped by the victory with Wild Again in the inaugural Breeders' Cup. That helped secure my first of four Eclipse Awards. I don't know that you could put a price on just what that did for my career. It was tremendous and catapulted me to the next level. I started getting opportunities after that to participate in the major races all over the country and to ride some of the top choices in those races.

If the Wild Again win was Day's top Breeders' Cup moment, his loss to Sunday Silence aboard Easy Goer in the 1989 Classic was surely his worst.

“When they came off the turn, Easy Goer was slow to change leads,” Day said. “He finally did. When he did, he caught on and accelerated, but obviously it was too little, too late. There was just so much hanging in the balance. The Eclipse Award for top 3-year-old. Horse of the Year. There were some tremendous accolades that hung in the balance. That Breeders' Cup was hard and the second hardest pill to swallow with him would have been the Preakness. I think I rode a horrible race and I think that I cost him the race in the Preakness. Easy Goer was a great horse. The best I ever rode. I know the record doesn't reflect it but I still think he was better than Sunday Silence.”

Who was his toughest opponent?

“Day in and day out, the smartest, strongest rider I rode against on a regular basis was Jerry Bailey,” Day said. “He would draw up a game plan and he was able to implement that game plan just about every time.”

Who was the most competitive rider he ever went up against?

“With that subject, Angel Cordero's name always comes up,” he said. “We would laughingly say he could ride two or three horses in a race. Angel, I love you, man. He was an astute handicapper. And if he handicapped the race and he felt that you had the horse to beat, he was going to beat you. He felt like if he beat you he would win the race. The team agreed that Dettori, who has been riding in top form this year, deserved at least one more year. Finley predicted he might decide to keep riding for two or three more years. They also reviewed last week's action which included a win by European shipper Mawj (Ire) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) in the GI Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup S. at Keeneland and the ultra-impressive win by City of Troy (Justify) in the G1 Dewhurst S. at Newmarket.

Godolphin's Classic winner Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) is expected to make her next start in the Nov. 4 GI Breeders' Cup Mile, according to trainer Saeed bin Suroor on Tuesday.

Unbeaten in four starts this season, the sophomore filly most recently came home a half-length winner over Lindy (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) in Keeneland's Oct. 14 GI QEII Challenge S.

“She's a tough filly with a big heart, to do that on her first run for five months and win a Grade I,” said Bin Suroor. “She had been doing well before the race and Oisin [Murphy] had been in to ride her and we knew she was well–she's come back well from the race too.”

In that nine-furlong test, she was making her first start since scoring in the G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May.

“When she beat Tahiyra (Ire) [Siyouni (Fr)] in the Guineas, they were a long way clear of the others–they are the best by a long way.”

He continued, “She will head to Santa Anita now for the Breeders' Cup Mile. If she stayed against the fillies, it would be a mile and a quarter and a mile is the best trip for her, she's proved that.

“Because she's a tough filly she stayed nine furlongs at [Keeneland] but the Mile is for her, she's a top-class filly. She's not very big so the two turns over a mile will suit her.”

Keeneland's lawn debuted during the 1985 Fall meet in an era when American turf courses were just coming into vogue.

According to a back issue of the track's media guide, through 2016 they had two names for their grass course. The Keeneland Course referred to the one with rail up, while the normal configuration with it down was called the Haggin Course.

Named for Louis Lee Haggin II, who was not only Keeneland's President from 1940-1956, but the decade before had purchased the 550-acre Sycamore Farm in Woodford County. Serving as board chairman of the Keeneland Association beginning in 1970, he was a decedent of the gold rusher and California stud farm innovator James Ben Ali Haggin.

As for the Keeneland turf course records, they recognized various distances and rail settings, but for the 2016 Fall meet, the inside rail was replaced on the Haggin Course with a portable fence that can be placed a variety of distances to protect the inside portion of the course. So, beginning with the 2017 Spring meet, Keeneland amalgamated records into one set based on distance.

Now that we mowed through a bit of turf history, the Haggin will take center stage starting on Friday, as the Association cards a trio of graded grass races which will headline another weekend of racing action.

On Friday at Keeneland, a key distance test will be renewed when turf specialists contest the GIII Sycamore S. going 12 furlongs. Grizzled veterans like GISW Red Knight (Pure Prize) and MGISW Channel Maker (English Channel) are present, but so are up and comers like MGSP Limited Liability (Kitten's Joy) and GSP Red Run (Gun Runner). Add in Godolphin homebred Bold Act (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}), who is group stakes placed in England and France for trainer Charlie Appleby, and this should set up as quite a late scramble.

Heading to Saturday in the Bluegrass, it is the annual invitation-only GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. for 3-year-old fillies. The nine-furlong run over the Haggin includes several invaders with European form. Elusive Princess (Fr) (Martinborough {Jpn}) made her U.S. debut a good one when she captured the GIII Saratoga Oaks Invitational Aug. 4 after running second in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary S. at ParisLongchamp May 14 and when she was fifth behind G1 Prix de l'Opera Longines heroine Blue Rose Cen (Churchill {Ire}) in the G1 Prix de Diane S. June 18 at Chantilly.

Shifting from Jean-Philippe Dubois to Arnaud Delacour, the bay filly will face another who recently changed yards in Lindy (Fr) (Le Harve {Ire}). She made the switch from Christophe Ferland to Brendan Walsh over the summer after finishing second in the G1 French 1000 Guineas S. to Blue Rose Cen and then a well-beaten eighth in the Prix de Diane. Under Walsh, she successfully shipped into Kentucky Downs and won an optional claimer at a short price going a mile.

Other imports into this field include Sounds of Heaven (GB) (Kingman {GB}), who was third at the Royal Meeting in the G1 Coronation S. for Jessica Harrington, French stakes winner for Jean-Claude Roget Elounda Queen (Ire) (Australia {GB}) and finally, Mawj (Ire), who was last seen winning the G1 1000 Guineas S. at Newmarket May 7 for Godolphin and trainer Saeed bin Suroor. Incidently, this will be bin Suroor's first trip to Keeneland since 2014.

“You have to send the right horse to run here,” bin Suroor said. “This is the right place for her. This was the plan to come here and then go to the Breeders' Cup. Either the [GI Breeders' Cup] Mile or the [GI Breeders' Cup] Filly & Mare Turf. I want to see how she runs here and then on to L.A. Mawj had a little chest infection before Ascot [in the summer] and she had a break,” bin Suroor said of the five months between starts.

As for the American contingent, Chad Brown will be well-represented with pair of entries in GSW Liguria (War Front) and GISP Prerequisite (Upstart). Brown has won four of the last five editions of this race.

Finally, on Sunday it will be time to go sprinting at Keeneland when the GII Franklin S. goes off at five and a half furlongs for older females. MGISW Caravel (Mizzen Mast) returns to her favorite course, the site of her upset win last fall in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, as she attempts to repeat in the Franklin S. for trainer Brad Cox. The accomplished 6-year-old, who will be offered at the Keeneland November Sale, will once again face GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint victoress Twilight Gleaming (Ire) (National Defense {GB}). The 4-year-old bay filly is looking to get back on track for Wesley Ward after an unsuccessful trip to Del Mar July 28 in the Daiseycutter S. Also of note is the presence of GII Ladies Turf Sprint winner Bay Storm (Kantharos), who had her own way at Kentucky Downs, and the untested Godolphin homebred from England for Charlie Appleby, Star Guest (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}).

The stakes docket is not restricted to just Central Kentucky as both Aqueduct and Woodbine host their own graded races on Saturday.

With rain in the forecast later in the day and Sunday's GIII Knickerbocker S. moved to next week as a consequence, we will get to see the GII Sands Point S. early on the Belmont at the Big A card. Out of 10 entrants and three also-eligibles, Neecie Marie (Cross Traffic) will get another crack at Godolphin's Eternal Hope (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), who bested her by only a neck in the Sept. 16 GIII Jockey Club Oaks Invitational.

Joining the fray are a pair of alums who ran second and third in last month's Virginia Oaks at Colonial Downs. Jeff Drown's Root Cause (Into Mischief) and Don Alberto homebred Alpha Bella (Justify) have proved they can handle nine furlongs as they look to win their first graded race.

Ranging up the Canada, Woodbine has a pair of Grade IIIs scheduled over their Tapeta on Saturday when SW Mouffy (Uncle Mo) takes on MGSW Souper Hoity Toity (Uncle Mo) in the Ontario Matron S. and GSW Loyalty (Hard Spun) battles MGSW Our Flash Drive (Ghostzapper) in the Ontario Fashion S.

Godolphin's G1 1000 Guineas heroine Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) has been entered in the G1 Sun Chariot S. in early October, trainer Saeed bin Suroor revealed on Sunday.

Undefeated in all of her 2023 starts, the 'TDN Rising Star' landed a pair of Meydan conditions races in January and February, before striking by a half-length in the Newmarket Classic on May 7. A Group 2 winner last year, she missed Royal Ascot due to an infection, and she is also being considered for the GI First Lady S. at Keeneland the same weekend as the Sun Chariot.

“She's doing well,” said bin Suroor. “I've given her an entry in the Sun Chariot or the same week there's a race for her at Keeneland.

“Those are what we are looking at for her, those two races. We'll see which one closer to the time. The Sun Chariot is obviously closer [to home].”

Long term, the half-sister to multiple Grade I winner Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) is a candidate for the Breeders' Cup in November.

“The Breeders' Cup is our big aim for this year, she's not a big filly so a track like Keeneland will be perfect. She'll stay in training next year, which is good news.”

MGISW Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}–Modern Ideals {GB}, by New Approach {Ire}), a winner at the Group 1/Grade I level at two, three and four, has been retired from racing. Stud plans for Modern Games will be announced at a later date.

A half-brother to 2023 Classic heroine Mawj (Ire), the Godolphin homebred won four of six starts at two, including the G3 Tattersalls S. at Newmarket and the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar.

At three, he added victories in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains at ParisLongchamp, the GI Woodbine Mile in Canada before recording his second Breeders' Cup success in the GI Mile at Keeneland.

He recorded his first Group 1 win on home soil at four, taking Newbury's May 20 Lockinge S. by 1 1/2 lengths before rounding out his career with a fourth in the G1 Queen Anne S. at Royal Ascot June 20.

Trainer Charlie Appleby said, “Modern Games was a brilliant horse to train and such a great advert for Godolphin. To win at two Breeders' Cups, to be part of our trio of Guineas winners in 2022, and to land the Lockinge Stakes this season, shows his class, toughness and durability.

“He answered every call we asked of him, and we will miss him at Moulton Paddocks. I'm sure he will be a huge success in his next career as a stallion.”

Godolphin homebred Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}), who won the G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May, has been withdrawn from Friday's G1 Coronation S. at Royal Ascot due to a cough, trainer Saeed bin Suroor announced.

Successful in the G2 Duchess Of Cambridge S. and third in the G1 Cheveley Park S. at two, the daughter of Modern Ideals (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) has won all three of her 3-year-old starts. The 'TDN Rising Star' appeared twice at Meydan in conditions races and won the Jumeirah Fillies Classic over seven furlongs and the Jumeirah Fillies Guineas going a mile this winter.

“Mawj appeared quiet after exercising this morning and produced a dirty scope,” said bin Suroor. “She is coughing at moment, so won't be able to run in the Coronation S.

“It's disappointing to miss Royal Ascot, but we will give her time to recover and we can hopefully look forward to the rest of the season.”

Frankie's farewell 2000 Guineas was followed 24 hours later by Oisin Murphy and Saeed bin Suroor's comeback 1000 Guineas victory as Mawj (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}–Modern Ideals {GB}, by New Approach {Ire}) prevailed in a thrilling TDN Rising Star tussle with Tahiyra (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}) in the QIPCO-sponsored Newmarket Classic. In front of the group racing up the centre from the outset, Godolphin's half-sister to last year's G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains hero Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) was joined by The Aga Khan's 6-4 favourite heading into the dip as they began to pull clear of the far-side leader Matilda Picotte (Ire) (Sioux Nation). Despite minor interference between the first two, there were no excuses as the battle-hardened Mawj held her Irish rival all the way to the line to prevail by half a length at 9-1, with 7 1/2 lengths back to Matilda Picotte in third.

“I had a really good start back thanks to lots of different trainers supporting me,” Murphy said. “Just to get back in the big races with a crowd here, it's a great feeling. All the group one winners mean a lot, but I just realise as I've got older that these top-class horses are super hard to find.”

For bin Suroor, it was a first British Classic success since 2009 and a first in this race in 21 years. “I think this my 195th group one winner around the world and it means a lot, as it has been a long time since we won a Classic race in England,” he reflected of his 13th such winner. “Recently, things have been slow with the quality of horses but luckily when I saw this filly start to work, despite her being tiny, she showed her class. She has a big heart and I thought she was going to win when they were close. The Irish 1000 Guineas could be next, we'll see how she is and talk to Sheikh Mohammed.”

"It was a great duel in the sun."@STurnerTipster and @LydiaHislop assess the "two-horse" QIPCO 1000 Guineas @NewmarketRace between Mawj and Tahiyra

Third-placed Matilda Picotte ran a blinder, but was seven and a half lengths adrift at the line … pic.twitter.com/FVkMaELiEC

— Racing TV (@RacingTV) May 7, 2023

Earning her TDN Rising Star tag on her impressive winning debut here last May, Mawj stayed at six furlongs thereafter and followed a second to Meditate (Ire) (No Nay Never) in Royal Ascot's G3 Albany S. with a battling defeat of Lezoo (GB) (Zoustar {Aus}) in the G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. at the July Festival. Fourth in the G2 Lowther S. at York in August and third behind Lezoo and Meditate in the G1 Cheveley Park S. back at this venue the following month, she had enjoyed an old-school Dubai preparation for this having defeated the much-vaunted Appleby runner Dream Of Love (Ire) (Shamardal) in the seven-furlong Jumeirah Fillies Classic and taken the Jumeirah Fillies Guineas by 8 1/2 lengths on her first attempt at this trip.

As the ground had worsened considerably from Friday to Saturday, Murphy had begun to worry that Mawj was a sitting duck for the proven slow-ground performer Tahiyra and as they came together passing the two-furlong pole that looked to be the case. Chris Hayes had looked full of horse there, but as soon as the Godolphin filly felt her threat she did what she had to Lezoo last summer and at the line was pulling away in one of the most pulsating 1000 Guineas duels of recent times.

Dermot Weld, who was so close to landing his first 1000 Guineas, surprisingly suggested that the rain had compromised the G1 Moyglare Stud S. heroine on her return. “She ran a big race, probably the ground was a shade slow for her,” he said. “We know she has a lot of pace, a lot of speed. The ground just takes the real speed off her. She's run, she's quickened, and Chris Hayes has probably told you that there is another gear there we didn't just quite get today.”

“Because of the weather and things we had, I had to be careful of my training of her,” Weld added. “I would have liked to have got a prep race before today. The ideal plan was to give her a run in Classic trial a couple of weeks ago. The ground has been very heavy and I didn't want to pull the guts out of her. So we came into the race slightly undercooked. We had her 95 per-cent and we didn't have her 100 per-cent and we have got beaten half a length. We'll see how she comes out of the race and I have another Aga Khan filly called Tarawa that ran a very nice prep for the Irish Guineas at Leopardstown today. She is a very sweet filly and she was always on my mind for that, but let's see.”

Kieran Cotter is set to revert to sprinting with Matilda Picotte, who was clear of the field for much of the race. “It was brilliant–she got some cheer in the stands, I can tell you. There are about 20 or 30 of us here. We said coming here that third was up for grabs and we knew we had a serious chance of third. We knew she'd be running on fresh air late on, but she is a marvellous filly. The track is tailor-made for her, because she has so much pace and she can trap down, cruise down into the dip for the climb home. I doubt she will run over the mile again. We'll go back down to six for the Commonwealth Cup.”

Pedigree Notes

Mawj, who becomes the 18th top-level winner for her sire, was continuing the success story of her dam whose aforementioned Modern Games also captured the GI Breeders' Cup Mile as well as the ParisLongchamp Classic. Also responsible for the Listed Windsor S. winner Modern News (GB) (Shamardal), she is a daughter of Gerald Leigh's Epitome (Ire) (Nashwan), linking the late owner-breeder with both Guineas winners over the weekend.

Epitome provided Godolphin with their G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-winning sire Ultra (Ire) (Manduro {Ger}), while she also produced the G3 Prix Minerve scorer Synopsis (Ire) (In The Wings {GB}), while the third dam, the Italian champion Proskona (Mr. Prospector), is the ancestress of Leigh's G1 Prix Lupin and G1 Criterium International-winning sire Act One (GB) (In The Wings {GB}) connected to Riverman's stellar producer Korveya who threw the top Woodman celebrities Bosra Sham and Hector Protector. Modern Ideals' 2-year-old filly is by Mastercraftsman (Ire).
