Making smooth headway along the far-side rail once into the straight, the 47-10 chance quickened to the front approaching the final furlong and was pushed clear in the closing stages to easily account for Spirit Grey (Fr) (Charm Spirit {Ire}), by an impressive 3 1/2 lengths, becoming the first winner for his freshman sire (by Scat Daddy). HOT QUEEN (FR) (f, 2, Recorder {GB}–Hot Fudge {Swe} {Ch. Grass Mare-Sca, Ch. Older Mare-Sca & SP-Nor}, by Lomitas {GB}) hit the board in her two latest starts, including a June 8 last-out second over six furlongs at Saint-Cloud, and made a sharp getaway to establish a clear lead by halfway in this fourth outing. Allowed an inch of rein passing the quarter-mile marker, the 21-10 favourite came under increased pressure for a period and kept on strongly in the closing stages to easily hold Alromy (Fr) (Al Wukair {Ire}) by a geared-down three lengths, becoming the first winner for her freshman sire (by Galileo {Ire}). She is the latest of eight foals and fifth scorer produced by the stakes-placed dual Scandinavian champion distaffer Hot Fudge (Swe) (Lomitas {GB}).
