Last Sunday, 30-1 maiden winner Tolonisito helped propel a $32,360 Late Pick 5 carryover into Friday's 9-race program at Golden Gate Fields. Track officials expect the new-money pool to soar well into the six figures.

The Late Pick 5, a 50-cent minimum bet, begins in Race 5 and ends in the final race of the day, Race 9. The lineup of races features a pair of allowance events and attracts 42 entrants, equating to 8.4 horses per race.

<ins data-revive-zoneid=23 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

<ins data-revive-zoneid=177 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

Post time for the first leg of the Late Pick 5 sequence is 2:43 PM PT. In the fifth race, grass routers voyage one mile and a sixteenth on projected firm going.

Race 6, the second leg of the Late Pick 5, is for hard-knocking filly and mare sprinters.

Race 7 is a competitive heat, with Lagatha inheriting the status as the 3-1 morning line favorite in a field of 10.

Turf sprinters dash five furlongs in the co-featured eighth race, another allowance event, and the well-bred Silver Claim looks to extend his unbeaten record in Northern California to 5 wins from 5 starts for leading conditioner Jonathan Wong.

The last leg of the sequence, Race 9, is a wide-open affair to end the day. The 7-2 morning line favorite is Awesome Dude, ridden by leading jockey Pedro Terrero.

Friday's program also features two additional carryovers: a Rolling Super High Five carryover of $11,583 scheduled for the first race, and a Golden Pick 6 jackpot carryover of $16,928 beginning in Race 4. First post on Friday is 12:45 PM.

Thursday's 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $100,000 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Sunday following Saturday's mandatory payout that produced multiple payoffs of $313,299.84.

<ins data-revive-zoneid=23 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

<ins data-revive-zoneid=177 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Late Pick 5 Returns $73

After going unsolved Saturday, the Late Pick 5 generated brisk betting at Gulfstream Park Sunday, when a $140,079.77 carryover pool prompted bettors to wager an additional $1,131,239.

A 50-cent multi-race wager that spanned Races 7-11, the Late Pick 5 yielded multiple payoffs of $73.15.

The last race for Sunday's Late Pick 5, Rainbow 6, and Late Pick 5 was “ALL” when the race was taken off the turf and moved to the main track due to heavy rain.

There will be more to celebrate than just the start of Memorial Day weekend when live racing returns to historic Pimlico Race Course Friday with a trio of carryovers worth nearly $830,000.

Post time for the first of nine races is 12:40 p.m.

<ins data-revive-zoneid=23 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

<ins data-revive-zoneid=177 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

Maryland's state record jackpot carryover in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 has grown to $708,857.82 after going unsolved during Pimlico's last live program Sunday. Friday's sequence spans Races 4-9, kicked off by a maiden claimer for horses 3, 4 and 5 sprinting six furlongs on the main track.

Friday's feature comes in Race 8, a six-furlong, entry-level optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up. Favored at 7-5 in the program is Charles McGill's Maryland homebred Cry No More, a winner of two of his last three races including a popular front-running 6 ¼-length off-the-turf restricted allowance score May 6 at Pimlico. His only loss in that span came in the mud in an open allowance April 25 at Pimlico to Heir Port, who also returns in this spot as the 8-5 second choice.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Introduced in Maryland April 2, 2015 on opening day of Pimlico's spring meet, the Rainbow 6 had its previous state record carryover reach $345,898.33 spanning 31 racing programs before being solved by one lucky bettor for a life-changing $399,545.94 payout April 15, 2018 at Laurel Park. The winning ticket was purchased through Maine off-track betting.

In addition to the Rainbow 6, the 50-cent Late Pick 5 will have a carryover of $115,038.40 from Sunday's program. The popular wager gets under way in Race 5, a claiming sprint for fillies and mares 3 and up which have never won two races, scheduled for five furlongs on the grass. A field of 16 was entered, including Acadian Girl for main track only and four also-eligibles.

If a pair of six-figure carryovers aren't enough to whet bettors' appetites, the $1 Super Hi-5 will offer a carryover of $5,876.76 starting in Race 2, where 11 fillies and mares 3 and up are entered for the 1 1/16-mile starter-optional claimer on the grass.

Live racing continues Saturday and Sunday at Pimlico as well as a special Memorial Day holiday program Monday, May 31. With ongoing renovations to Laurel Park's main track, the Preakness Meet at Pimlico has been extended to Sunday, June 27.

Live racing returns to Laurel Park this Thursday for a New Year's Eve program that marks closing day of the 2020 fall meet and features mandatory payouts in the 20-cent Rainbow 6, 50-cent Late Pick 5 and $1 Super Hi-5 wagers.

There will be carryovers of $17,538.82 in the Rainbow 6, spanning Races 4-9, and $332.99 in the Super Hi-5 for Thursday's opener, a 5 ½-furlong claiming event for 3-year-olds and up. Post time for the first of nine races is 12:25 p.m.

<ins data-revive-zoneid=23 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

<ins data-revive-zoneid=177 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out when there is a single, unique tickets sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day's pool goes back to bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Thursday's Rainbow 6 kicks off with a seven-furlong starter optional claimer for 3-year-olds and up that drew a field of nine led by 5-2 program favorite Fast Cash, a $300,000 yearling of 2018 making his 10th career start and third since being claimed by Anthony Farrior, his fourth trainer since September.

Race 7 is an open, third-level optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares 3 and up sprinting seven furlongs featuring Naughty Thoughts, winner of Laurel's Wide Country Feb. 15; Coconut Cake, who had a three-race win streak snapped last out Dec. 3; Maryland Million Distaff runner-up Quiet Imagination; 2018 Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship winner Money Fromheaven and multiple stakes-placed Ankle Monitor.

Chuck and Maribeth Sandford's 3-year-old homebred filly Indy Takes Charge, unraced since Sept. 5 after crossing the wire second in three consecutive races, is favored at 2-1 on the morning line for her return in Race 8, a seven-furlong allowance for fillies and mares 3 and up.

When the Fair Grounds' 149th season of racing kicks off Thanksgiving Day at the New Orleans, La. track, a traditional early and late Pick Five will replace the Black Gold Five, a jackpot wager that had been in place for the past several years.

On a regular basis, the early Pick Five will encompass races 1-5, and the late Pick Five will be offered on the final five races of the card. The 50-cent minimum wager will pay 100% of the day's pool plus any carryover coming into the day to those who correctly select 5-of-5 winners. Should no one pick 5-of-5, 25% of the pool will be paid to those who select the most winners, with the remaining 75% of the pool carrying over to the following day's late Pick Five sequence.

<ins data-revive-zoneid=23 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

<ins data-revive-zoneid=177 data-revive-id="b284fa4ee2b53b5c0fb16aa42e76910a"></ins>

In addition to the newly implemented early and late Pick Five, Fair Grounds will also offer an early Pick Four, which will now move to races 2-5, as well as two other Pick Fours later on the card. Rolling Pick Threes and daily doubles remain a staple of the wagering menu.

Fair Grounds will also make a key change to their horizontal wagering platform. Beginning this meet, any race that is taken off the turf after a sequence has started will revert to ALL on any live tickets. This rule only applies to turf races moved to the main track. Any scratch in a race that did not switch surfaces will result in the bettor getting a replacement of the post time favorite.

A complete list of wagering information, special wagers, and with key racing dates for the meet can be found at: https://www.fairgroundsracecourse.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/2020-2021-Thoroughbred-Racing-Season-Wagering-Info-FINAL-.pdf
