Standing at Kildangan Stud for €9,000, Profitable, winner of the G1 King's Stand S. at Royal Ascot, is the only stallion with multiple sprinting group winners from his 3-year-old crop. After siring the G2 Queen Mary S. winner in his freshman year, he covered 116 mares last season. With a stud fee of €7,000 at Haras du Logis, European Champion Older Horse Cloth of Stars won the G1 Prix Ganay and was placed twice in the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Henry Beeby, Goffs Group Chief Executive said, “We are pleased to offer breeding rights to two exceptional young sires via our proven Goffs Online platform. This online sale enhances the extensive offering at next week's Goffs February Sale and we invite breeders wishing to offer a breeding right to contact any member of the Goffs team.”

Minella Crooner was a head second on his chasing debut in the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown in November and followed up with a win in a Fairyhouse Beginners Chase on 3rd December. Four-time winner Minella Crooner will be offered for sale with a Grade 1 entry as he is set to run in the three-mile Grade 1 Neville Hotels Novice Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival on Dec. 29. Horse Racing Ireland will facilitate the transfer of ownership in time for him to run in his new owner's colours provided they are currently a registered owner.

Music Drive was a Bumper winner in February, won first time out over hurdles in October at Galway and has been placed at Cheltenham on his two starts since, most recently finishing second to Hermes Allen in the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices Hurdle.

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby commented:

“Our focus with Goffs Online is on providing vendors with a proven platform for horses of quality to sell at a time that suits them.  We limit it to one-off elite sales and, as seen with numerous Goffs Online Sales in 2022, it works extremely well for both sellers and buyers.  Minella Crooner and Music Drive are both extremely exciting prospects as we head into the thick of the National Hunt season, and we are grateful to owner David Barnard for entrusting us with their sale.”

“The Goffs Online service has had a strong year and this is another great result which shows the platform's ability to be ready to host sales of high-profile bloodstock whenever clients need it,” said Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry. “We have reserved the use of our Goffs Online timed sales for high-end horses and breeding rights and with Lone Eagle's £300,000 result, following the mares Queen Of The Stage and Quilita selling for £340,000 and €205,000 respectively this year, it clearly demonstrates its ability to cater for elite bloodstock whilst our superb Online team led by Michael Hardy in Goffs and Michael Orton in the UK stand ready to assist sellers at a moment's notice.

Davies said, “Quilita appealed to us as a quality mare with a proven ability to breed Grade 1 performers, and as such she fits what we are trying to achieve here at DahlBury. We are continually investing in our broodmare band to support our stallions and have been delighted with the calibre of mares that have visited Bangkok (Ire), Planteur (Ire) and Walzertakt (Ger) this spring.

“Quilita will join last week's Goffs UK August Sale topper Miss Heritage (Ire) (Pour Moi {Ire}) as well as Put The Kettle On (Ire) (Stowaway {GB}), who we purchased at the Aintree Sale and is now successfully in foal to Planteur, at DahlBury. Quilita is our third big purchase from Goffs and we have found the process very straight forward and transparent.  She is in foal to an exciting young stallion in Waldgeist and she should suit Bangkok who is a tremendously good looking individual and has been well supported in his first season.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “Goffs were delighted to offer another classy mare online today and the excellent result is a superb endorsement of Goffs Instant which is ready and available at 48 hours' notice to sell any thoroughbred of quality. We are grateful to the vendors for their trust and especially appreciative of Simon Davies of DahlBury as this is the third high profile broodmare he has bought from our sales this year. We wish him every success with them.”

A breeding right to last year's champion European first-season sire Cotai Glory (GB) was purchased by Paul Harley Bloodstock for €40,000, while Joseph Burke purchased a breeding right to Profitable (Ire) for €35,000. Burke, who brokered the deal for Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners to purchase Profitable's G2 Queen Mary S. winner Quick Suzy (Ire) last year, said, “All my clients and partners keep our mares at Oghill House Stud where Hugh Hyland has always been a big believer in Profitable. Sure enough, two of the sire's three stakes-winning 2-year-olds thus far have been produced at Oghill–Quick Suzy and Mr Professor– so we hope to emulate that success once again.

“I was fortunate enough to be able to secure Goffs graduate Quick Suzy privately on behalf of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners prior to her winning the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, a day we'll never forget, so I'm a big fan. Considering Profitable didn't win a group race until he was four, he has made a hugely encouraging start to his career and we think he has a very bright future.”

Breeding rights to Territories (Ire) and Belardo (Ire) sold for £18,000 and €16,500, respectively.

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “Today's online sale completes a successful week for Goffs and marks a first for the company–selling horses in a traditional, physical sale and also in an online only auction in the same week. It demonstrates the ever-growing capabilities and ongoing innovation of Goffs to be able to conduct auctions in both spheres and it has been very pleasing to see all five of the breeding rights sell. The sale has provided a solid platform on which we can grow and we look forward to expanding our online sales offer in the future.”

Darley's Territories sired pricy auction purchase Rougir (Fr), who won the G1 Prix de l'Opera Longines last year and also counts the group placed Masseto (GB) and Rhoscolyn (GB) among his progeny. He commands £10,000 at Dalham Hall Stud.

Tops for first-season sires with winners (35) in 2021, Cotai Glory counts G2 Prix Robert Papin winner Atomic Force (Ire) among his best runners. The chestnut, who stands at Tally-Ho Stud for €8,500 this season, also has sired the group placed Pearl Glory (Ire), Eldrickjones (Ire) and the listed winner Purciaretta (Ire).

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “Goffs Online was first introduced to the market in 2020 and since its inception it has proven a market leading platform. We have used it to aid our live auctions on both sides of the Irish Sea as well as hosting timed online sales which has seen it sell horses up to £300,000.

“We have secured the sale of breeding rights to three very promising young sires which have strong commercial appeal and this online auction enhances the extensive offering at our three-day Goffs February Sale next week. This online sale will open at the conclusion of the final day of breeding stock and if breeders wish to discuss adding any additional breeding rights to the sale, we invite them to contact a member of the Goffs team. This new departure for Goffs only widens our offering and the introduction of the Agents Commission, which was successfully introduced for the online London Sale last summer, should also broaden the sales appeal.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “The Goffs Online platform has proved a key addition to our service over the last year with close to €8-million worth of business being conducted via the medium. Last month's January Sale was very well supported and clearly illustrated the growing appetite for online sales in the current climate as it produced the three highest prices achieved by any online sale in the UK and Ireland in 2021, so illustrating its ability to sell elite bloodstock with three six-figure lots and a £300,000 top price.

“Vendors have expressed plenty of positive feedback selling through Goffs Online as it can bring significant savings with a lower entry fee of only £195 + VAT, no travel and sale staffing costs as well as an assurance that the sale will take place regardless of the COVID restrictions at the time. Buyers have also voiced positive sentiments, in particular that with all lots sold with a veterinary certificate, which buyers can vet against following the sale, there is an extra level of security which provides confidence when bidding on horses.

“We have proven that Goffs Online provides a strong marketplace for horses-in-training in particular and that will be our focus for the new March Sale. Like the online January Sale, the catalogue will only be available to view on the Goffs Online website, it will not be printed, and it will be released on Friday, Mar. 12.”
