The Two Million Series consists of Europe's Richest Two-Year-Old Race, the seven-furlong €1-million Goffs Million, on the eve of the 2024 sale at the Curragh and the €500,000 Goffs 500 over six furlongs, with prize-money available through 10th place. In addition, the Goffs €50,000 Bonus Series will see €50,000 bonuses paid to the winners of a diverse range of 2-year-old maidens on Irish racecourses throughout 2024.

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “A stated ambition of Goffs is to attract more of the top tier Irish yearlings to Orby and we are thrilled to present two larger days of impeccable quality in Orby Book 1 following increased support from leading breeders.

“They have been persuaded by the massive international buying bench that attended last year's successful sale and the evolution of the Goffs Two Million Series which means that only Orby yearlings will compete for a massive €2 million next year. We are eternally grateful to our vendors for we our nothing without their horses and are so excited to present this superb selection to global buyers.”

The Harry Beeby Premier Yearling S. at York will be worth £500,000 and be renamed the Harry's Half Million by Goffs in 2024, Goffs UK announced on Wednesday.

Launched in 1998 by the late Goffs UK Chairman and Honorary President Harry Beeby with current Goffs UK Chairman and Goffs CEO Henry Beeby, the race continues the commemoration of Harry Beeby by the sales company. The 2023 Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling S. will be run over six furlongs on Thursday, Aug. 24.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent said, “This race has been a huge success for our Premier Sale since its launch over 25 years ago. Every year we hear from owners and trainers 'I would love to win your race'–it has become more than taking home its sizable prizemoney, it's one people want to win and become a part of its heritage which is a wonderful accolade.

“When it was launched, it was Europe's richest 2-year-old race and it has been won by some outstanding horses such as Acclamation (GB), Dark Angel (Ire), Tasleet (GB) and Wootton Bassett (GB) to name just a few. We feel the time is right to further elevate the race's profile and increasing the prize fund to £500,000 in 2024 demonstrates our commitment to it–whilst it will also be a big draw card for buyers ahead of this year's Premier Yearling Sale on 29-30 August.

“Harry was immensely proud of the race, he attended every running until 2019 and always enjoyed the spectacle of it as well as meeting clients and friends, many of whom were one and the same. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to William Derby and York Racecourse for their continued and enthusiastic support of the race and we look forward to returning to York in August for the 26th running on the Thursday of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby had one word for Thursday's record-breaking Goffs Punchestown Sale–“Sensational.”

Taking top billing at a new record price for the auction was the Milestone Stables-consigned Qualimita (Fr) (Muhtathir {GB}), who attracted a final bid of €500,000 from Mags O'Toole. The 4-year-old debut point-to-point winner (lot 14) is from a classy German family featuring G1 Deutsches Derby hero Waldpark (Ger) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Masked Marvel (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}).

The clearance rate improved 1% on 2022's edition as 20 horses sold from 22 offered (91%) for a gross of €3,940,000 at Punchestown after racing yesterday. The average rose to €197,000 (+23%) and the median improved to €170,000 (+26%). Nine lots made €200,000 or more.

Tom Malone and Paul Nicholls picked up the 4-year-old winning pointer Histrionic (Ire) (Walk In The Park {Ire}) (lot 19) for €450,000, the second-dearest lot of the day. Consigned by Ballyboy Stables, the gelding is kin to graded-winning chasers Alfie Sherrin (GB) (Kayf Tara {GB}), Kimberlite Candy (Ire) (Flemensfirth) and Hawkes Point (GB) (Kayf Tara {GB}).

“The Original Festival Sale returned a trade that can only be described in the richest of superlatives with huge increases in every statistic and a magnificent new record top price of €500,000,” Beeby continued.

“As ever we are indebted to the vendors who put their trust in the Goffs service and sent such quality to the Punchestown Sale. They are a mighty bunch as they truly put their money where their mouth is year after year and it is fantastic to see results like these today.

“We now look ahead to the Goffs Arkle Sale in June as we put the finishing touches on an outstanding catalogue. Irish Point-to-Point handlers are the backbone of the store sale market and we were delighted to see so many of them well rewarded here at the Punchestown Sale. Last year's Arkle Sale, formerly the Land Rover, has produced more 4-year-old Point-to-Point winners this season than all other store sales combined, and there is plenty more quality awaiting buyers at the Arkle Sale from 13–15 June.”

Slated for Feb. 8-9, the sale includes Flat and National Hunt weanlings, breeding stock, 2-year-olds and horses-in-training, and will begin at 10 a.m. each day.

One of the highlights of the catalogue is Galileo (Ire) mare Love On My Mind (Ire) (lot 479). In foal to Galileo Chrome (Ire), the 11-year-old sells as part of the Clonbonny Stud draft, as does lot 321, her yearling half-brother to G1 National S. hero Al Riffa.

Ballyshannon Stud offers Its All For Luck (Ire) (Fast Company {Ire}) (lot 474), who is a sister to G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Jet Setting (Ire) (Fast Company {Ire}). She is in foal to Profitable (Ire).

La Petite Coco (Ire) (Ruler Of The World {Ire}) triumphed in the G1 Pretty Polly S. last term prior to selling for 1 million gns to Wertheimer & Frere at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale. Her winning Thewayyouare half-sister Promenada (Ire) is part of the Coolagown Stud consignment as lot 459. Their dam, La Petite Virginia (Ger) (Konigstiger {Ger}) is a half-sister to three stakes winners led by G1 German Derby hero Lavirco (Ger) (Konigsstuhl {Ger}).

From the horses-in-training portion of the catalogue, an unnamed 3-year-old filly by Iffraaj (GB) and out of G3 Golden Daffodil S. heroine Mango Mischief (Ire) (Desert King {Ire}) sells as lot 48 for Flexford Partners.

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “As ever the Goffs February Sale boasts quality throughout, with a diverse selection of Flat and National Hunt horses of all ages catalogued over two days. Following on from the record trade for foals and breeding stock at the Goffs November Sale and Goffs December National Hunt Sale, we anticipate strong demand and a vibrant start to the sales year at Kildare Paddocks. We look forward to welcoming buyers from across the globe to this market leading sale and assure them of the unique Goffs welcome.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “Goffs is the gateway to the world for Irish breeders and we are extremely grateful that the overwhelming majority send their best foals to the November Sale. Ireland's National Foal Sale consistently proves to be the preferred choice for most pinhookers and so many end users, both of whom have enjoyed so many successes year after year. We are proud to present a truly world-class catalogue packed full of outstanding foals with the credentials on paper and conformation to appeal to every major buyer at every level seeking their next pinhooking success story or Group 1 glory.”

Grade 1 producer Quilita (Ger) (Lomitas {GB}) (lot 1) sold for €205,000 to Simon Davies of DahlBury during Tuesday's Goffs Instant Online Sale. Consigned by Oghill House Stud, the 12-year-old who is in foal to Arc hero Walgeist (GB), is the dam of dual Grade 1 and Cheltenham Festival winner Quilixios (GB) (Maxios {GB}). Quilita also placed at the Grade 3 level in Germany.

Davies said, “Quilita appealed to us as a quality mare with a proven ability to breed Grade 1 performers, and as such she fits what we are trying to achieve here at DahlBury. We are continually investing in our broodmare band to support our stallions and have been delighted with the calibre of mares that have visited Bangkok (Ire), Planteur (Ire) and Walzertakt (Ger) this spring.

“Quilita will join last week's Goffs UK August Sale topper Miss Heritage (Ire) (Pour Moi {Ire}) as well as Put The Kettle On (Ire) (Stowaway {GB}), who we purchased at the Aintree Sale and is now successfully in foal to Planteur, at DahlBury. Quilita is our third big purchase from Goffs and we have found the process very straight forward and transparent. She is in foal to an exciting young stallion in Waldgeist and she should suit Bangkok who is a tremendously good looking individual and has been well supported in his first season.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “Goffs were delighted to offer another classy mare online today and the excellent result is a superb endorsement of Goffs Instant which is ready and available at 48 hours' notice to sell any thoroughbred of quality. We are grateful to the vendors for their trust and especially appreciative of Simon Davies of DahlBury as this is the third high profile broodmare he has bought from our sales this year. We wish him every success with them.”

The 2023 Dubai Breeze-Up Sale in association with Goffs, organised by the Dubai Racing Club in cooperation with Goffs, will return to the sales calendar in 2023. Slated for Meydan Racecourse in the week leading up to Dubai World Cup night, just like the 2022 inaugural edition, the sale will be confined to a maximum of 69 juveniles carefully selected by the Goffs inspection team. Travel subsidies will be available to vendors and all entries will again undergo a full veterinary examination prior to departure to ensure full transparency and buyer confidence.

This year's edition attracted a diverse buying bench of new and existing buyers. A colt by Curlin, consigned by Powerstown Stud, was purchased by Mohammed Al Subousi for AED2.5 million (€620,000) to top the sale. The average was AED609,412 (€158,000). Monday marked the first 2-year-old winner from the sale, the Dubawi (Ire) filly Dubai Jemila (GB). She ran out a half-length winner in the colours of Jaber Abdullah in an Ayr novice. The Kevin Ryan trainee was sold by Malcolm Bastard to Yousuf Salem Saeed Saqer Al Kaabi for AED1.4 million (€347,090).

Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Racing Club, said, “The success of the inaugural Dubai Breeze Up Sale executed in collaboration with Goffs paid tribute to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. And in keeping with the success achieved by the region's first ever sale of its kind, we are pleased to announce the second edition in 2023 and we once again welcome Goffs aboard as partners in conducting the second edition of the sale during the week of the Dubai World Cup 2023. In partnership with Goffs, we look forward to another thrilling edition of the sale where again some of the world's top racing connections will go head-to-head in a bid to sign future champions.”

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby added, “It was an honour for Goffs to be selected by Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook, Chairman of the Dubai Racing Club, to conduct the inaugural Dubai Breeze-Up earlier this year. Following a superb start, it is a wonderful endorsement of the Goffs service to have been reappointed to grow and develop this world-class sale. Solid foundations are in place, and the Goffs inspection team led by Nick Nugent and Tom Taaffe along with our vendors will take the learnings from year one and fine tune the sale to ensure we present a catalogue that best matches what the Dubai Breeze-Up buyer seeks.

“Goffs was delighted to be involved in introducing a sale such as this on the eve of the world's most prestigious race and we look forward to working with the team of the Dubai Racing Club to deliver an exceptional bunch of 2-year-olds to Dubai next year.”
