“I thought she brought the best form into the race, so I was confident and she's strengthened up so much from two to three,” Hernon said. “Quite a lot of Montjeu comes through in her via Camelot, so I was impressed with how much she relaxed and settled through the race. We haven't turned any screws yet, so I think there is quite a bit of progression to come. I would imagine she'll come back here for the [G1] Prix Saint-Alary and her owner has entered her in the Oaks, but I entered her in the Irish Oaks and July might be the time to step her up to a mile and a half.”

“I had it in my head all winter that she would go Vanteaux-Saint-Alary-Diane and then the Irish Oaks if we wanted to go a mile and a half. She'd be best on good-to-soft, but she wouldn't want it too firm. We've got the right to dare to dream with her and she was very well named by Mr Lee. We always thought that she was going to take us to the top table and I think today she's proved that she can. Mr Lee was born and raised in Epsom, but he lives in Hong Kong and he didn't want to come for her first run knowing that she was only 80 per-cent fit. He'll be here the next time for sure.”

It is in that early Derby pointer that Rosegreen's G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud third Illinois (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and impressive course maiden-winning TDN Rising Star Ocean Of Dreams (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) look to add to the stable's Blue Riband team taking on Vimal Khosla's G2 Beresford S. winner Deepone (GB) (Study Of Man {Ire}) from the Paddy Twomey stable.

“He has a five-pound penalty for his win in the Beresford S. last season, but we're looking forward to running him on Sunday,” Twomey said. “I think stepping up in trip will play to his strengths, I think a mile and a quarter to a mile and a half should be well within his compass.”

Leopardstown also stages the seven-furlong G3 Ballylinch Stud “Red Rocks” S., where Ballydoyle again have two fascinating maiden winners in Samuel Colt (Ire) (No Nay Never) and The Liffey (Ire) (No Nay Never). At ParisLongchamp, Guy Pariente,Thomas Lines and Qatar Racing's G1 Criterium International hero Sunway (Fr) (Galiway {GB}) returns in the nine-furlong G3 Prix la Force. Trainer David Menuisier said, “It is famous last words, but the ground shouldn't be an issue. It will be hard on the horses, but we feel ours goes on it quite good and the trip shouldn't be a problem, so we go there quite positive. Later down the line, we would like to aim at the Prix du Jockey Club, but we need to take races one by one, obviously. We could drop back in trip to run in one of the Guineas or we could go up in trip to run in a Derby trial next month. It will all depend on what happens this weekend and what Oisin and the owners think–and then we will take it from there.”

“She is a very nice filly and considering what she does in the mornings, it was not a problem for me to run her in this group race on only her second career start,” Laffon Parias explained. “She has the speed for a race like the [G3] Prix de la Grotte next week, but I made the choice of this one thinking that it would be easier. She settled well in a race with a good rhythm and showed us all her quality in the straight. A Burgeoning Force?

In the nine-furlong G3 Prix la Force, it is the first reckoning of Rouget's TDN Rising Star Padishakh (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) who is untried in black-type company but who looked every bit up to scratch in two conditions races here and at Chantilly in September and October. Nurlan Bizakov's big French hope has his initial encounter with a Ballydoyle runner as the stable continues to spread out its Classic hopefuls. Greenland (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}) is the one here and he is rated considerably better than the bare form of his last-of-four effort in the G2 Royal Lodge S. at Newmarket in September. Rouget's telling time continues in the G3 Prix Vanteaux over the same trip, where Ecurie Billon's Around Midnight (Fr) (Almanzor {Fr}) re-opposes Sea The Lady (Fr) (Sea The Moon {Ger}) having beaten her in the Listed Criterium de l'Ouest at Craon in September before finishing runner-up in Deauville's G3 Prix des Reservoirs the following month. “She was a shade unlucky when encountering two good fillies first time out and won nicely on her second start last year,” said winning owner and France Galop president Baron Edouard de Rothschild. “She has developed into a handsome-looking filly over the winter and I think she won very well today. Her dam belonged to my father [Baron Guy de Rothschild] and has already produced Meandre, so I don't think staying further will be a problem for her. She's entered in the [June 19 G1] Prix de Diane [at Chantilly], of course, but we'll not commit to anything just yet. We shall take time to see how she comes out of this race and will, in time, decide which route to take.”

Will Dreams Shatter For Tumbler?

Taking on Dreamflight in the Force is the Wertheimers' exciting colt Tumbler (Fr) (Kingman {GB}), who earned 'TDN Rising Star' status with his 10-length debut romp at Saint-Cloud in October. Entered in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains and G1 Prix du Jockey Club, the relative of Falco re-enters the fray over this interim trip to help Carlos Laffon-Parias decide which route to take. In the G3 Prix Vanteaux for fillies also over nine furlongs, man-of-the-moment Peslier maintains his allegiance to Jean-Etienne Dubois's Listed Grand Criterium de Bordeaux winner Singforthemoment (Ire) (No Nay Never) in what should be another informative afternoon.

A Clearer Picture

   To say that the 3-year-old career of 'TDN Rising Star' High Definition (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) was an anti-climax is an understatement, but Ballydoyle's 2020 G2 Beresford S. winner gets a clean slate in the G3 Alleged S. at The Curragh. The truth is, we still don't know how much ability he has and this should begin to enlighten us. In the card's G3 Gladness S., another star of the 2020 juvenile scene and fellow 'TDN Rising Star' Thunder Moon (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) also makes his comeback. It seems a long time since Chantal Regalado-Gonzalez's colt sparkled in the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. and if he can give 13 pounds weight-for-age to the Madrid H. scorer Markaz Paname (Ire) (Markaz {Ire}) he will be well on course.
