“It was a very good performance in Ireland and he's come out of it really well,” said trainer Tim Easterby. “He's in good order and he goes to Ascot next time. He ran well last year.

“He just wants riding with a bit of patience. That's what he wants and he could win anything.”

Art Power's stablemate Winter Power (Ire) (Bungle Inthejungle {GB}) is headed to France to take in the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye on Oct. 3. Since taking the G3 Cornwallis S. last October, the bay filly opened her season with a listed victory at York on May 13, but was only ninth in the G1 King's Stand S. at Royal Ascot. Back in the winner's circle in the Listed City Walls S. at York on July 10, she won the G1 Nunthorpe S. there on Aug. 20. An awkward break in the G1 Flying Five S. at The Curragh resulted in a 10th place finish on Sept. 12.

“She's in great form and goes to the Prix Abbaye,” he said. With a bit of luck she can repeat her Nunthorpe performance in France.”

“He's going to be supplemented for the Abbaye, so he goes there next week,” McGuinness confirmed. “He came out of his race really well, he was bouncing and very happy. I think he's improved, it was his first time over five [furlongs] and I really am looking forward to a big run there [ParisLongchamp].

“People were telling me that he was a seven [furlong] horse and that he needed six [furlongs], but he showed me a lot of natural speed at home.

“That's why we decided to drop back to five, it was his first run ever over five. For a 3-year-old to run for the first time ever over five furlongs, taking on some of the best sprinters in training and to finish the way he finished, you couldn't complain.”

Depending on how the G3 Anglesey S. hero runs at ParisLongchamp, an overseas venture to Del Mar in November is not out of the question.

“We'll make plans after that, we'll see which way the Abbaye goes, but there is a possibility that if he ran well he might go to the Breeders' Cup,” he said. “Either way I do think he's definitely going to get better, he's an exciting horse to look forward to for the future.”

“She, all being well, will run in the Prix de l'Abbaye,” said James Wigan, racing manager to owner George Strawbridge. “I think that she ran a very good race, she was probably on the wrong side of the course.”

“All the speed was on the other side and she had to race on her own, but she was making up ground. I think had she been on the other side she'd have been very close.”

A winner of both her juvenile starts including a French listed race for Georgiana Cabrero and trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias, Suesa was purchased privately by prominent owner/breeder George Strawbridge and transferred to the yard of Francois Rohaut. She added the G3 Prix Sigy at Chantilly on Apr. 20, her 3-year-old bow, and then the G3 Prix Texanita there on May 17. Only eighth in the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, the 3-year-old filly returned to the winner's circle in the G2 King George Qatar S. at Goodwood on July 30, her final start before the Nunthorpe.
